Users upgrading from last year's E2000 give up an antenna and Gigabit Ethernet but gain simultaneous dual-band connectivity, better ease of use, and better 2.4Ghz-band performance. It's a good router, but better throughput at the 5 GHz would make it better. quote

Though far from perfect, the Linksys E2500's ease of use, nice design, and reasonable price make it a very good router for a small home or apartment.

If you're ok with 10/100 ports and somewhat weaker 5 GHz performance, a refurbished E2500 at $40 is a pretty good deal for a simultaneous dual-band router with guest network capability.

Stock firmware has a bug that drastically reduces performance after about a week of uptime. Flash with dd-wrt, and it's rock-solid.

It's best used as a simple access point. No Wireless Bridge Mode support. Unless you go for DD-WRT (experimental builds) and Tomato is not supported.

I really have no complaints about this router except that, for the price, I would have liked to see gigabit ethernet.
