The Nintendo 64 turns 18 this week!
Hard to believe but the 64 came out 18 years ago. I remember the first time I used one I couldn't get over the controller. It was such a foreign looking object compared to the NES, SNES and Genesis. With it also came arguably one of the best multi-player games of all time (Goldeneye) and I think a top 3 Mario (Mario 64).
Some of my favorite games definitely were:
  • Goldenyeye
  • 1080 Snowboarding
  • WaveRace
  • Shadows of...

I want to play PilotWings 64 while I commute!
I used to really enjoy playing Nintendo’s PilotWings 64, back in the day!   Flying the Rocket Belt around, exploring and looking for those gold stars.   Shooting Mario out of the cannon, and making the face on the mountain change into Wario!   Cool stuff!   I wish it were available for me to play now, on my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone, running Android 4.3.   I tried playing it using an emulator, but the gameplay was awful!   The sound was horrible, all scratchy and stuttery.   The... What are the worst games you ever played?
ET may go down as one of the worst games ever made. If it's not at the top of every worst-of list, it's usually in the top three. It wasn't considered a bad game because of the era it was released, it was just a downright bad game. Critics slammed it for it's controls and called it a repetitive game. The game was so bad it's been long rumored that Atari dumped every remaining game... Read more →

Sound issues in Mario Kart 64
On my girlfriend's copy of Mario Kart 64 I've noticed that when we play 3-4 player games, only the second player gets full sound effects, such as the kart engine, hitting other players with shells and other sound effects. That is also on her 64. I always thought that it was just because running 3-4 players was too much for the system to do with full sound. But on my N64, and copy of Mario Kart 64, I haven't noticed this at all. Has anyone else experienced this?

What color is your N64?
I got my N64 many years after its release (just a couple years ago actually) and I wanted to get a blue one cuz its my fave color. One of the things I loved most about the N64 actually was the multitude of colors it was available in. I am not positive, but I think this thing came in more colors than any other console ever! I still remember the commercials where they had the different color warriors fighting to show all the different new colors. When I started looking on eBay to buy one, I was... Read more →

N64 on LCD tv
Has anyone found a way to play their N64 on the newer generation of HD tv's without it looking like total garbage? I only have an LCD TV and when I hooked up my old N64 the resolution is terrible, the colors are bad, and it just looks like crap overall. I will say the sound is still pretty good, but the video almost makes it unplayable. Obviously I know these systems weren't meant to be played on HD LCDs but there have been workarounds for some of the older consoles. For example, I can... Read more →

So many awesome games....
I remember so fondly of playing my Nintendo 64 with my older brother when I was younger. A few months ago, I dusted it off again and it still worked! I looked through some of the games that I had and remember some of the really fun games I used to play like Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, Mario Party 3, Pokemon Snap! (ha ha). So, what are all of your favorite Nintendo 64 games and do you still love to play your Nintendo 64?
