Panasonic's VT50 series ranks among the best plasma HDTV sets ever made, with deep black levels, wide viewing angles, good 3D performance, smooth motion for gaming and viewing alike, and a solid set of smart TV features. It does have a few issues, however, including two that are common to most plasma sets: high energy usage, and somewhat washed out colors in brightly lit rooms. It's also one of the most expensive options currently available, and there are alternatives that are almost as good, at lower prices.

The Panasonic is the whole package, a great choice of TV tuners, fantastic picture quality and a design that blows every chunky plasma out of the water. It might not be cheap, but it is utterly brilliant.

With the TX-P50VT50, Panasonic has created a TV capable of hyper-reality. Its images are darker and more dynamic than real life, yet pictures always appear natural. Whether your thing is sports or movies, this high-end set is not going to disappoint.

The Panasonic TX-P50VT50 is a tremendous accomplishment that's not matched even closely by the only other two makers of plasma.

Panasonic's new flagship 55in TV, the Panasonic TX-P55VT50, finds the brand on predictably imperious form. As a 55in screen for a dedicated home cinema room it’s probably without equal.

For your very bright living room you may still consider LED models but for everything else, it simply does not get much better, in today’s market, than VT50 in terms of picture quality. The TV deserves praise and our Highly Recommended Award.

When Robert Heron said he was getting the 50" version of this, I pulled the trigger. Mounted on wall the 65vt50 is actually less intrusive than our previous, table-mounted 55-incher. VERY pleased.

THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST TV I HAVE EVER OWNED, I REPLACED THE PIONEER KURO 50 WITH THIS. NOT SURE I GAVE THE SOUND A FAIR RATING BECAUSE A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER I GOT THE TV I ADDED THE BOSE SOUND BAR TO IT...WHAT A PEFECT EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND.
