Uniquely designed, the Pegasus J2 is perfect for deep-pocketed mobile users who want a compact, superfast, and RAID-enabled storage device, but not the rest.

Kudos to Promise on breaking the mold with the Pegasus J2, but I'd at least like to see better SSD controllers used inside.

The Thunderbolt-equipped Promise Pegasus J2 external solid-state drive is a speed demon in the studio, and a versatile bus-powered drive in the field. It's pricey and has a relatively low capacity for a $500 drive, but it is one of the fastest portable Thunderbolt drives out there.
