If you're looking for an easy-to-use, decent AirPlay sound system to stream music from your iTunes library or from a docked iOS device, the Contour 200i Air is well worth considering. At under $250, the stylish 200i is a midrange system that will give you better audio output than a sub-$200 system like the iHome iW1, but isn't quite up there with a high-end system like Audyssey's $350 Audio Dock Air.

Pure's Contour 200i Air is a well-designed, well-constructed wireless speaker. AirPlay is seamless and docking works just as well. We wish it had digital (or analog) radio to give it a little more versatility, but as wireless speakers go this is a good one.

The AirPlay-enabled Pure Contour 200i Air's tendency to distort at high volumes makes its low price less of a bargain.

The Contour 200iAir is a good-looking package with a lot of potential. If you want style with high quality sound, you'll likely go for something like the B&W Zeppelin, but you can get style and pretty good sound from the Contour 200i for half the price.

We wouldn't exactly call the sound 'room-filling' but if you are looking for a great mid-level docking solution packing AirPlay, perhaps for a games room, office or bedroom, the Contour 200i Air could be just what you need.

For our money, Pure has made the best budget AirPlay speaker currently on the market, and if you want painless, wireless audio, we thoroughly recommend it.

What we have here is a relatively affordable first step onto the AirPlay ladder. Sound quality isn’t perfect, and Pure’s own app could do with a few refinements, but the 200i Air is still worth investigating.

If you can live with the cavernous sound, though, the Contour 200i Air is a delightfully convenient way to listen to music for iOS devotees, and the price isn’t too punishing either.

Its design is attractively simple, it's easy to use, fills most rooms with sound and doubles as a neat family-friendly iOS charge dock. However, limited treble performance and the added cost of AirPlay boosts it into a price bracket its sound quality doesn't feel entirely at home in.
