conclusion:We're mixed

The Samsung Galaxy Tab4 looks nice, but offers little else beyond that to justify its price tag.

The Tab4 has most of the fit and finish befitting a member of Samsung's premiere Galaxy line, with phoneArena calling its build quality "flawless." However, they also found the design rather "uninspired," with CNET noting that the Tab4 "isn't much of a looker" due to its plain plastic construction. At least the screen looks nice, with CNET calling it "fine" while phoneArena says it's pleasant despite lacking the characteristic "pop" of a Samsung display.

The Tab4 could still try to wow with its performance, and to that effect CNET says "performance is pretty good" though gaming is "more of a mixed bag." The Tab4's battery life is a little more of a contentious issue, with phoneArena finding it rather excellent while PC Mag declared it "mediocre." CNET took the middle road on battery life, calling the 10 hours they eked out "about right."

There is nothing particularly bad about the Galaxy Tab4, but there's also nothing outstanding about it. It's a fairly middle-of-the-road product, in a field comprised of similarly-priced tablets that can offer a lot more bang for your buck.

The $180 Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 is a fine choice for a budget tablet, but it's ultimately bested by great older devices, and new slates that are cheaper still.

The Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 will appeal to longtime Samsung fans, but it doesn't do enough to justify the premium over similarly equipped competitors.

With an accessible price of $199, the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 would have made for an excellent purchase if its performance didn't leave so much to be desired.

This cheap, mid high end tablet has Just as many features as any other tablet with the exception of 3g, but the performance and features were the deciding factor to not want to keep this this low budget tablet for long. Lag, poor galaxy OS, the camera is JUST AWFUL, and the maps were hard to...
