Samsung continues to improve on their current lineup of cameras with the NX300, which not only has impressive image quality, but with its a new autofocus system, is also an incredibly fast shooter. PC Pro says the NX300 was able to lock "onto a subject in 0.08 seconds, with no discernible hunting in good light," and CNET UK agrees, saying "it was fast and responsive." But it isn't just the focus that makes the NX300 so fast, as Photography Blog says the "start-up time from turning the NX300 on to being ready to take a photo is impressively quick at less than a second." They were also impressed with the actual photos, saying the NX300 "delivers excellent still image quality," while Pocket-Lint thought "color reproduction was good" and "the level of grain was well controlled at all but the highest sensitivities." The NX300 also succeeds in providing good video quality, with PC Mag finding videos to be "extremely sharp, with accurate colors." show more

With a large touchscreen, built-in Wi-Fi and an APS-C sized sensor there's a lot to like about the Samsung NX300. It consistently produces high-quality shots, is easy to use -- even if you're a novice -- and ships with a copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, all of which helps it justify its price tag.

We spent a few fleeting moments with an engineering sample of the camera in-hand ... The camera as a whole feels solid, yet lightweight -- the grip follows the same form-factor as previous NX imagers, but it's slightly chunkier feeling, and easier to grasp.

The Samsung NX300's a big revamp of last year's NX210 including a lot of common sense improvements to Samsung's mid-range mirrorless camera. And then there's the 3D photo and movie mode. Nobody asked for a brilliant new technology that uses a single lens to capture 3D images, but Samsung made it...
