So once again, it's a case of image quality to the rescue for the DP2 Quattro ... Only you can decide if this is enough to persuade you to splash out quite a lot of cash for an undeniably quirky, pared-back camera with a fixed focal-length lens that is really only suited to a slower, more considered...

We liked the design overall, though we're still a bit puzzled, especially considering Sigma's plea to look past the extra-wide housing. It's also unclear how much each camera will retail for, or when they'll hit stores, but our money's on a price tag north of one grand.

The DP Quattro's body itself is extremely thin, but the grip veers off at impossible angles, actually extending beyond the rear of the camera. The overall effect is strikingly minimalist, reducing the camera down to the bare essentials: a lens, a grip with controls, and a box to house them all.
