For 2013 Sony is upgrading their top-tier blu-ray with the S5100. The S5100 still has the 2D-to-3D conversion, DVD upscaling and streaming content but Sony has improved the WiFi by making the signal reception stronger.

From its eye-catching design, to the intuitive user interface and stable images, there's a lot to like about the Sony BDP-S5100. Even the free remote control app that runs on your Anroid or iOS device looks slick.

The BDP-S5100 is a reasonably priced Blu-ray player with plenty of features. It doesn't have much in the way of user-customisable settings and the list of online services could be larger, but it looks great and is easy to use.

Superb chasis design. Excelent 3D video quality (seen on LG 42LM620 TV), automatic 3D mode selection. Fast loading of all disks. Quick menus. Full internet browser, and plenty of smart apps preloaded, plus Opera app platform for adding new apps.
