Can an imported Playstation Vita be localized for the US PSN store?
details
I'm going to Hong Kong in about a week and I'm thinking of getting a wifi PlayStation Vita there since it'll be released there before it comes out here in the US in Febuary. I'm concerned that if I buy the PSV there, I'll be stuck using the Asian PSN store and that I won't be able to use it with the US PSN store.

Does anyone know if I can change the settings for it to be localized for the US?

Should I buy a Sony PSP 3000?
details
We have a PS3 Slim at home and our son has a Nintendo DS Lite. We are thinking that for Christmas we will upgrade him to a PSP 3000 (which you can get for $129 at stores now) and can buy downloadable content from PSN and so forth.

I'm not going to be buying the Vita at the current pricing, which is what you can buy a new console for, and I think downloadable content is the way to go. He loves my... Read more →

How many will wait to buy Vita 2/Vita 2000/Vita XL/Vita Slim?
details
Sony and Apple are as notorious for great looking, well functioning, top of the line devices as they are for making vast improvements on those devices in the 2nd and 3rd iterations. Back in college, my roommate bought a PSP-1000 for $275, only to sell it a year later for something like $200. Obviously he loved being an early adopter, but ultimately had to sell the device because the novelty wore off and he eventually the iPod Touch caught his eye. I bought a PSP-3000 about a 1.5 years ago and... Read more →

If you've had the first PSP, how likely is it that you are going to purchase the Vita?
details
Personally, I'm a bit apprehensive about purchasing the Vita and this is based on my experience with the first PSP. I remember the day I bought the PSP (March 24, 2005). I couldn't wait to get out of school (10th grade) to go pick up my preorder at Gamestop. It was the first video game device that I saved my hard earned $249.99 plus tax to purchase along with a few other games. All was great at first, but then it would be weeks before a game worth noticing would come out. Those weeks then turned... Read more →

Has Sony Given Up On The PSPgo?
details
When the PSPgo was announced, I thought it was a great idea. A download only, pocket-able system with lots of power. It would be the anti-DS. There was talk at first that *all* content would be made available via the PS store. Reality hasn't quite lived up to expectation though. I purchased my PSPgo last fall when they were marked down to $150 and included LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM, and Ratchet & Clank. I downloaded Patapon 2 and Loco Roco 2. R&C was pretty fun, although the controls were a little... Read more →

So with the Playstation Network down for over a week and with possibly tens of millions of credit card information stolen, I can't help but be very worried…
details
about my credit possibly being in jeopardy. I've already changed as many passwords as I can that shared the same one as my PSN account and I'm considering cancelling my the credit card that I used with PSN and reissuing another. However, there are two problems: 1. I forgot which credit card I used with PSN, and with PSN down, I cannot check which credit card is on file. 2. Sony still has yet to confirm if my credit card is truly in jeopardy. So because of those two issues, I've... Read more →

recently, I've been offered a PSP Go for a pretty good price. I've been wondering is I should take the offer.
details
I'm not heavy on gaming, and currently own a DS Lite. I'm looking for something with better graphics and games that're a bit more serious. I realize that the system is now out of date and that the psp 2 is coming out, but I'm not much of a gamer and won't be playing very much. So I don't think I'll mind just so long as theres some good content available for it. Also: I'd like to know about any homebrew aspect. I want something hackable. Ds has some... Read more →

It's looking like Nintendo and Sony are going to stick to their respective strategies with their previous generations of portable gaming devices, one being…
details
an alternative (simple?) gaming experience and the other bringing the console gaming experience in a powerful portable device. Before the DS and PSP were released, I thought that the PSP would definitely be the winner because it was so much more powerful, but I was obviously way off. I'm guessing the majority of people wanted a device/game designed for gaming on the go and not having what is essentially a portable PS2. Personally, I think I would take the Sony NGP purely due to the spec... Read more →

"Pause Game" is new to the PSPgo and intrigues me as a new go owner -- mostly because I bought mine used and don't have manuals.
details
:) What exactly is the difference between pausing a game and then sleeping the device, versus sleeping the device in mid-game? It seems like you would be able to pause multiple games and move between them without going through boot screens all the time but I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet. I'd also be worried about using it that way because of the warning dialog it shows, telling me certain changes to device settings might make the file not resumable. That sounds like a...

Buyer beware: as of launch, PSPgo does not support WPA2 WiFi encryption
details
As of launch firmware (5.70), the PSPgo does not support WPA2 encryption. Don't know about you, but for me that basically means I can't use it on my home or portable WiFi networks. Which is kind of a deal breaker since this thing is essentially a brick without an internet connection. This kind of thing completely baffles me. Didn't Sony already learn from Nintendo's mistake (in not supporting anything but the incredibly old / insecure WEP encryption)?

PS3-->PSP PS1 titles
details
Wow, lots of acronyms in the title... anyway. I have Final Fantasy VII on my PS3, can I transfer it to a PSP if I buy one? Do I have to buy it separately? Can saves be transferred so I can start on the PS3 then continue on the PSP? Thanks.
