Why is my HTC One (m7) using so much data?
Has anyone noticed an excessive increase in their data usage with their HTC One device? I have 11G PLAN, which started on the 26th, and Verizon says that my phone alone has used all the data and it's only the 7th. I didn't have this problem until the sense 6 update or with my other phones. . They are going to have a hard time getting me to pay this $500 bill. I have everything turned off or disabled (autosynch, limited backgrounds, turn data off). I have no WiFi access bc I live in the country....

What's the best deal for a wireless hotspot for when you're away on vacation with family?
Looking for an affordable, convenient way to support our laptops, ipads and ipods when we go away each year to a location that does NOT offer free wireless. We're using Verizon cell phones, and don't own any smart phones or 4g connections. Other than a Verizon or Virgin Mobile hotspot, Is there anything better out there that doesn't require a monthly fee when you're not using it?

iPhone 5 or Playstation Vita?
In February 2013, I'm up for upgrade on Verizon. I currently have an iPhone 4. I'm going to get an iPhone 5 if I do upgrade, but I actually also want a Playstation Vita. If I do buy a Vita next month, I won't upgrade my iPhone until December 2013. I really like the idea of gaming on the go with physical controls, and I really like the game selection. They are both in the same general price range. What do you think? iPhone upgrade now and Vita never, or Vita now and iPhone upgrade in Christmas...

Using a German prepaid SIM card with a Verizon phone
I'll be in Germany for a week or so at the end of September. I was wondering what my options were for pre paid mobile service, including data. The devices I have that take a sim card are a Galaxy S III and Blackberry Storm (both Verizon). Even they use different size cards...

I was wondering if anyone can help me out figure out what I should look for when I buy a prepaid SIM card & if anyone can confirm if (one of) these devices will work overseas.

Should I buy a Galaxy S3 or stick with my new RAZR MAXX?
I had to buy a new phone and decided to get a RAZR MAXX. 2 days later, I discover the Galaxy S3 will be coming out within my 14-day trial period on Verizon. I like the battery life of the MAXX but the S3 seems to have a better camera and includes S-Voice (a SIRI of sorts). So, stick with the RAZR or pay the $35 restocking fee and get the S3 when it comes out in the next few days?

Which Verizon andriod phone should I buy?
Since the rumors about Verizon no longer grandfathering in unlimited data for people who are moving from a 3g phone to a 4g LTE phone I am looking to upgrade from my HTC Incredible now rather than wait and hope for Verizon to get the HTC One X.
The main contenders are in order of my current top pick down are:
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
-Highest rated and least expensive (I don't mind spending money but I don't know if there is currently a Verizon phone that is worth it)
-Only downsides are the camera... Read more →

Verizon LTE "advertising vs reality"
My home is condersidered to be in Verizon's Extended Coverage area. I had two bars of LTE connectivity upon activating my 3rd Gen iPad at my home. I traveled to San Fran and couldn't connect. I followed some online instructions that suggested resetting Network Settings to factory default. Voila! I was connected to LTE once again. I came back to my home town and, once again, only 3G connectivity. Resetting wouldn't work. I found another online resource that said to use the "Request Reprovision"... Read more →

Which iPad 3rd Gen should I get Wifi, Verizon LTE, or AT&T LTE?
I have AT&T on my iPhone 4. I like to travel both in the US and outside the US. I've read different opinions around whether you need the LTE or not. Some get the WIFI only because they can use a MiFi device (like the Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot) for AT&T or Verizon and have that flexibility. Others recomend getting an LTE enabled iPad because it has GPS "Assisted". IF I go with an LTE which service has the greatest flexibility in the US and international? I don't know if I would use... Can i use Zune service on Kin Onem?
Last week i have ordered a Kin Onem. I have bought it for using on Wi-Fi network or for Zune service like a Zune player. As you know it is a CDMA phone. So it is not supported in my country, therefore i won't be using it as phone. However i don't clearly know but i hope i will use it with my Zune account and Zune software any ideas? Additionally, i read many forums saying that i have to activate the phone from Verizone web site. Do i have to activate or unlock it to be able to use on Wi-Fi...

Can One Disable Verizon's Droid Bionic OTA?
I rooted my phone and I attempted to install the OTA ( I performed the necessary steps to keep my phone rooted), but the update didn't install correctly. However, I'm constantly reminded to install or download the update and it's getting annoying. Does anyone know if you can disable this notification using SQL Lite Editor or by any other means?

P.S. I'd rather not deal with unrooting and rerooting my phone and am trying to avoid it by any means possible.

Can I use Google Voice for voicemail on Verizon?
My favorite part about Google Voice is using it for voicemail. Unfortunately, in the initial Google Voice setup on my Galaxy Nexus, it tells you that my carrier doesn't support that action or something. Apparently Verizon just wants to squeeze money out of their customers because they have their own visual voicemail but its $36/year (see also: phone and data plan costs).

Is there a workaround I can use in order to use Google Voice for voicemail on Verizon?

How come cellular carriers won't block stolen mobile phones in the United States?
Last week, C.W. Nevius, a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, wrote an editorial on how to potentially curb smart-phone thieves. He argued that some carriers in foreign countries (e.g., Australia) will actually block mobile phones from their networks if reported stolen. (See:
From the SF Chronicle: Australia uses something akin to a serial number, basically a 15-digit fingerprint found on
