Pah! Ignore my FUD. I read two news releases on the Sony Daily and neither of them mentioned being able to annotate, but this one did: http://bit.ly/4mn0ND

"Use the included stylus to take freehand notes and highlight sections of text you want to revisit later, or bring up the virtual keyboard to enter quick notes or search eBooks. You can also look up words in The New Oxford American Dictionary, Second Edition, or export your notes to a computer using the eBook Library software"
None of the Sony Readers have an option to annote books/pdfs. There are some out there -- there iRex iLiad comes to mind -- just not Sony.
@v3xx I couldn't agree more. I just moved into a new place by Culver City. Inside the apartment when I do manage to make or receive a call I can be assured that it will inevitably drop at some point. Calls often go straight through to voicemail. The signal is so bad that even the google maps app on my iPhone won't locate me most of the time. Everywhere in my aparment, with the exception of right beside the window, the signal strength on my iPhone is -114 db, which is thoroughly crappy. By the window it is -99 db, which is still crappy but will sometimes let me get through 5 minutes worth of a calls without dropping.

For those of you who are also on an iPhone and complaining about constant dropped calls what sort of signal strength are you getting? You can check your signal strength on the iPhone by dialing *3001#12345#* (note if you try to save that number to an address book entry and auto-dial from there, it will not work)
I used pytivo all the time until I disovered the PS3 Media Server app started streaming every format under the sun to my PS3. Don't get me wrong, I love my TiVo Series 3, but for streaming movies and such, I find the PS3 UI better for me and the PS3 Media Server app easier to configure. And now that my PS3 has Netflix streaming, my TiVo will be regulated to only doing one thing, time shifting.
I'd be happy if the Verizon FIOS locator would just acknowledge that my address is a real address instead of giving me alternatives to select that are halfway across LA.
@tony Sweet! I actually have a trackstick in my girlfriend's car that I use to...uh...make sure she doesn't get lost. It'll be nice to be able to use this for GeoTagging as well.
@ Peter R: I guess the point most people are trying to make is that when I buy a book, it's _my_ book. The publisher or the bookseller should no longer dictate what I can and can't do with it. I should be able to lend it to whoever I want, whenever I want, for as long as I want.

I was hoping for better from the Nook, but I guess it's business as usual for me. I'll buy my eBooks, strip the DRM, and not deal with all this foolishness.
I would really like to get off the MSDN Win 7 Build 7100 I've been running for so long. But every time I think of what it would take to reinstall all my apps and games from scratch, I shudder and put it off for another week--as I've been doing since August.

The one thing I've ever really wished Windows has that OSX has is XCOPY deployment or at the very least a viable way to transfer installed apps.
That was my first though as well, but if you look at his lower torso where his legs are connected it doesn't seem possible this is someone in there, unless it's some wasp-wasted guy with stick legs.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
