Twitter's milkshake meet FriendFeed's straw {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}
Jul 6th 2008 11:54PM Basically Twitter needs to become what FriendFeed already is. It's too late. As much as people like to mythologise Twitter as this revolutionary new form of communication. It isn't and never was that. Jason, that ease of seeing all the replies in one place, is simply because that's how it's supposed to be done, that's how it makes sense, and that's how it's always been done on Bulletin Boards. The reason you like FriendFeed so much, is beacuse, unlike Twitter, they don't try to hise the fact that what they really are at the core is Bulletin Board. As mcuh as people poo pooh the idea that "that's just another Forum/Bulletin Board", that's what they really want, but won't admit.

So far, other than Gizmodo's comparison review, I think mine are the only videos taken with any of the Small Wonders that you can find on the web.

May 31st 2008 4:47PM The new RCA Small Wonders are better than both the Flip and the Vado. The Small Wonder is almost is smaller than the Flip and just a half inch thicker than the Vado. It has a fold-out LCD and an expandable MicroSD slot. Plus it's cheaper. I just ordered the Small Wonder EZ200 from Buy for $87.

May 31st 2008 11:14AM I ordered the EZ200 a few days ago for $86.99. Didn't get it yet though. I was puzzled why the EZ200 was selling for about $10 less than the EZ205 when the specs looked about the same, except that the EZ205 gives you the option to shoot in a super compressed longer playing low quality mode that no one would use any way. I wanted to make sure that the EZ200 and EZ205 had the same quality when in highest quality mode so I contacted RCA and asked...
"The two models (RCA Small Wonder EZ200 and EZ205) look the same except for color. I would like to know if the image and sound quality are the same for the two camcorders in their highest quality mode. Thank you."
Here's RCA's email back to me...
"Response (Lisa Hammel) - 05/30/2008 06:42 PM
Dear Gregg,
The HQ mode quality would be the same for the EZ200 and the EZ205."
So save yourself $10 and buy the EZ200 and use the saved $10 to buy a bigger 2GB MicroSD card.
I still haven't been able to find any reviews or video's posted with these new models though. I have a feeling that the quality is going to be about the same as the Flip Ultra.

Apr 20th 2008 1:37PM Since Asus is able to sell the 2G Surf for $299 USD, and presumably make a profit, then just let me buy an 8.9" screen version of the 2G Surf. Charge me $50 more for it. I'm pretty sure an 8.9" screen isn't costing Asus more than $50 more than for the 7" screen. I'll happily pay pay $349 for an 8.9" 2G Surf. But there's no way I'm paying $549 for this.

Jun 5th 2007 7:23PM Fantastic interview. Exactly the right question to ask Jason. Why not provide the unedited source material of interviews and news stories online for those readers / listeners / viewers that are interested? The days of media being able to control and hide the process are over.
