It also helps because the realms in a battlegroup are in different time zones, so late at night when nobody on your realm is online, there could still be a lot more in a different realm

I finished it about 27 hours after it started, I like to get them done as fast as possible just to make sure I don't have to worry about it, and that way if any are much harder, I can get all the easy ones out of the way beforehand and concentrate on the hard ones

I use a mousepad because I don't like using plastic against a hard surface

actually if you read the intro to the IK book, they started work on the rpg and then thought it would make an awesome setting for a wargame too
