Having owned several Nokia phones over the years and being locked into their respective providers I don't really see the point in the posters.
It's not Apple or Nokias fault that service providers require contracts and try to keep you locked into their service with whatever tactic they can - not limited to locked devices.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before Nokia and every other phone maker would copy the iPhone, but it's pretty low to copy it and then attack it as well. But that's business and Nokia's attacks have not really hurt Apple all that much previously, I'm sure this will be no more significant than something Engadget can write about.
And no people, I am not an iPhone nut, I don't have one because I'm locked into another year on my current contract & device so I don't see it as being cost effective to switch. But that will change when the contract is over.
I absolutely despise the tiny wanna-be keyboards the Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices have. I have had several, all of them sucked. A lot of this will have to do with the mindset of the user. If someone starts out with something and the whole time they are thinking or saying "this will suck" - Then it probably will. If you have an open mind then maybe it will be great after you get used to it. I'm old enough to remember people complaining about the mouse. That seems to have caught on though.
Wow, this is nearly as much fun as the hyper-partisan political name calling and mindless debate! I am a Mac fan for no other reason than I just love the products. That has no thing to do with my decision to get an iPhone.
As for the $600 price tag. It's not really that big of a deal when you want a device that does these types of things. After all, I spent about $500 on an MDA form T-Mobile, not near as much on a Palm Treo, and another when the 650 came out and another when the 700 came out. Each time I did this I needed a new contract for a year or two. I was under some delusional false hope that each could actually do what I wanted. Although, each was an improvement over the former, none of them did what I wanted - let alone what they were advertised to be able to do.

Will the iPhone do everything I want?
Nope - but it's a lot closer than anything I have ever seen. Will I be completely happy with it? Nope - But, I am sure it can't be anywhere near as irritating as the MDA turned out to be. Aside from all of this, have any of you honestly seen, used, or know of a keyboard on any device you carry around in your pockets that is really any good? Be honest now. Most people don't even like compact desktop keyboards which are many times larger than the entire device we are talking about here. We don't use keyboards on these things because they are good at text input - we use them because we have to in order to accomplish the task at hand. SMS, email, whatever. How can ANY keyboard smaller than your hands be all that great?
It was my understanding that Facebook.com was the largest social networking site out there?
To all of you who insist on stating the post is pointless: You read the thing didn't you? So maybe that was the point?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
