Still the best bang for your buck for HD. We love ours.
It is no OS X, that is for sure.

Ethanol does NOT have to be made by corn. In fact, corn, as it has been stated in not effecient. Ethanol can be produced from any "waste" product that contain fibre, including many weeds.

Personally, I think a biodiesel hybrids make the most sense in the near term.
There is a trend in IT called "backsourcing" that is growing according to Ephram Schwartz at InfoWorld.
The concept of cheaper labor sounds promising (except for IT workers)but it often yielded disasterous effects.
1. It often required 1 Project Manager for half dozen outsorces. The time difference and language barrier proved to be difficult.

2. Business process and corporate culture. It is more than code. Working on projects is a collaborative effort and workers must function as part of a system.

3. Customers complain. Look at Dell moving support back to the US.

4. Experience. We have so many talented folks in US, Canada and the UK. Experience matters!

5. You can have it cheap. You can have it fast. You can have it done right. Pick 2.
Nice homage to Blade Runner.
As a consumer I believe that the artists and producers do need adequate compensation for their efforts. We all have our favorite albums/songs and movies and we realize that it just isn't content. The truth is that these works have become meshed in the fabric of our culture and hold a place in our minds and hearts.

As a consumer, I have purchased the same musical content on Album, cassette, cd (okay, I had an 8 track player too). Likewise, I have owned a BetaMax, VHS, LaserDisc (no flames please) and a DVD. Enough is enough. We want to really "own" this content in a non-destructive format that is not prone to becoming obsolete.

The reality is that when the studios, labels and distributers adopt a new format, we buy the content in that new format. With the looming battle between HD DVD and BluRay underway, I am saying, "Holy crap....not again".

Now with the advent of saving this multimedia content in a non-destructive, portable and next gen formats, we, the consumer actually present a problem. Apple is the only company to truly figure this out. These companies see the technology as a liability, not as entertainment.
To quote Mr. Heston:
They can have my Blackberry when they pry it from my cold, dead hands!

...greedy scunbags.

Main reason:
New hardware has integrated camera.
I have a G4 iMac (Lamp) which has no built in camera.
This product (besides iChat AV) shows off the included hardware.
iPod Nano.
Another evolution in the "whole widget".

"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
