This is exactly what the world needs, drastic actions and make a change.
Honestly, automotive manufactures promising 100 mpg by 2020...Wait do they have a predicted price for gasoline in 2020? At the rate of which petroleum prices are rising, gasoline probably cost $10-15 a gallon, so if you get 100 miles per gallon at $15 a gallon thats 15 cents per mile if we're getting 30 mpg at $4.75 a gallon thats still roughly 15 cents per mile. I assume they don't think we can do math just because we don't have a bachelor or masters in business.
6000+ posters, I sometimes wonder how many computer kiddies went to another computer and thought "oh, different computer so that means I can have one more activate comment."

I'm expecting to see 10,000 comments. :P
Personally I have to own a heavy duty truck for my job, but then again mines is diesel fueled. You guys have to understand that some people has to drive fuel inefficient vehicles for their jobs. The electrician that works for me drives an F-150 and he complains about the gas prices all the time, but what can he do?
He can't just go out and spend a good chunck of money on a diesel vehicle, but he can't drive a Prius either. What? He's going to put 1/2 ton of equipment and materials in the back of a Prius?

Why not cheaper alternative fuel, rather than more fuel efficient vehicles?
E85 cost about the same as regular gasoline, but you can't get too far with one tank and ends up costing more than gasoline. Well...Why is E85 just as much as gasoline?

Another issue is not everyone can fit into a small vehicle. For example my head hits the top of a Prius, I can't fit into the backseat, and if I'm driving it no one can sit behind me.

Now here's my opinion on SUVs. Yes, I do own one. And yes, it gets terrible fuel economey for some. Do I find it much of a gas guzzler? No, I do not. I average about 20 mpg on the highway on a 5L V8. I have to work on the week days, and I only drive it on the weekends. Though I've driven it everyday for a week or so last month, I don't find that bad. I can have my friends, nephews, niece, cousins, etc in the back. I can get from one place to another comfortably and I'm sure thats what most people want in a car.

Now remember this bill is just for fuel efficiency not reducing emission.

Also mccarron, Volvo belongs to Ford not GM. Just though I let you know.
Why does it seem like these companies suing are always from Texas?
False, the Xbox 360 does not support 1080p yet. They don't have the specific cable(s) to do so. Until they release an HDMI cable the 360 will support up to 1080i.
Both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 will add up to the same price, regardless of how you calculate it. It depends on what features you really want. If you want full HD then go with the PS3 it'll probably add up to be cheaper than the 360. If you want a game console, for a regular TV, and regular gaming then get the 360.
PS3:
HD-Features
HD-Support
Somewhat advance
Best choice if you have an HDTV
Xbox 360:
Best choice for regular gaming.

Xbox 360 (premium package) + HD DVD drive - No 1080p support yet = $600 for less of the HD features
PS3 + more HD features = $600
So if you plan on getting a system that has better HD support, the PS3 is just a better choice, if you don't need all that then obviously the 360 is the best value choice.
Both the 360 and the PS3 offers the same amount of games and not only that most of the games are released for both systems.
Rafael, I highly doubt you have one. It's called Blu-Ray not Blue-Ray.
I've had the Samsung one and it does not take 20 minutes to boot, a couple of minutes yes, but no where near 20.

Great Commander, I actually wouldn't really worry about the $30 per movie, some DVD movies released at that time was around $20-30 with was a lot compare to VHS, but look at it now people still buy them even at $15 a movie. If my memory serves me correctly VHS was around $10 at that time, right?

In continuation to Rafael's comment, I highly doubt that it'll be grainy, either the TV is garbage or its the disc's problem.
I don't see why people see the Wii as such a great system, its a mid-grade system, compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360. I though gaming was when you sit back with a controller and play some RPG or some game with your friends not jumping around in your living room. I mean that you can do outside.
Almost everything on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 is superior to the Wii.
I've brought a Xbox 360 2 months ago and the graphics are stuning, the screen shots of NBA live 2k7 (or 8 I'm not sure) looks great on the PS3, so far the Wii hasn't really amazed me.
I've also read some comments about the long start up time. Your computer can't boot in less than 40 seconds. The Xbox 360 can't boot up much faster. So I don't see what the problem is.
All metalic black items shows up worst on a picture due to refection.
I'm not sure if some people understand, the blu-ray drive is only at 2x so that is pretty fast considering that if can load the game as fast as the PS2's 4x DVD drive.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
