Logitech's Squeezebox Duet gets reviewed {Engadget}

Mar 6th 2008 6:41AM Really like the look of this- coupled with a WHS it seems like a really good solution. Would be nice to do one with an inbuilt speaker as well really, considering the target application would be in places like a kitchen where space is precious and loose cables aren't an option.

HP readying new Pavilion tx1400 series convertible tablets {Engadget}

Dec 20th 2007 1:02PM So essentially the same as my TX1138 but with 802.11n and a 250GB HDD? :( Would be nice if they did a digitizer version or something, the differences between each line seem a bit weak

USB remote (doesn't really) store away in a PCMCIA slot {Engadget}

Nov 25th 2007 12:02PM My HP TX1130 came with two remotes- one that slots into the PCMCIA slot like the one mentioned (without need for a dongle) and a larger TV-size remote with every button a Media Center user could want on it.

Toshiba's gigabeat prototype sports a 3.2-inch OLED display {Engadget}

Oct 2nd 2007 9:02AM Microsoft's definitely made the Zune 2 line themselves- they've got their own factory (next to the Xbox one iirc) dedicated to Zunes.

Toshiba intros WiFi-less Gigabeat T400 {Engadget}

Sep 25th 2007 11:56AM You haven't picked up on the apparently-dead Portable Media Center interface it's touting...

Microsoft exec rekindles iPhone rival rumors, gives Zune a B- {Engadget}

Sep 5th 2007 10:10AM Maybe the average rating is in sight of large improvements in the next iteration of the Zune? One can hope that's the case at least. However in regards to making Windows Mobile a more consumer-friendly device- bring it on! It's got all the features and flexibility to make it a big-seller, but the products have all been marketed towards business users so far. I'm hoping by the time I get my next XDA it'll be using a vastly simpler OS.

Creative Zen V Plus 8GB announced {Engadget}

Sep 30th 2006 7:02AM Seems quite tempting really, I'm planning on getting a Zune when they come out but have been looking for a flash player for whenever I'm doing more 'demanding' tasks. Whilst the Nanos are nice, they aren't exactly feature packed and I still don't like being locked down to iTunes. As a guitar player I love the line-in feature on the Zen:Vs as it means I can record myself or my band playing (from mixer) anywhere I like. The radio is a bit of a must-have for me and so that really puts the Zen:V in front of the Nano for my purposes. I'm not quite sure whever I'd need 8GB for how much I'd use it but at least the option's there now, so the Zen:V really is my flash player of choice.
In regards to those of you questionning why people wouldn't just buy a 30GB HDD player, the answer's fairly simple- those who have a smaller music collection and want a simple DAP are going to go for a smaller, 'faster', and less fragile device instead of spending the same money for space (physical and memory) that they simply won't use.

Zune price and date: $249, November 14th {Engadget}

Press release for all those confused about what you actually get for your money. FM tuner is just the itrip-esque modulator, and radio comes built in as expected :).
