Windows Home Server Power Pack 1 goes live {Engadget}

Jul 21st 2008 4:17PM I agree that the Corruption bug should have been fixed sooner and not with a "Power Pack", it should have been its own KB Article with corresponding fix. I was merely commenting on the fast beta-to-live cycle of PP1 as a whole.

And too be completely honest, the corruption bug only affected you if you saved or edited a file DIRECTLY on the server. The data wasn't being randomly corrupted, only if it was being modified from a share. Still the bug should have been disclosed and fix sooner, but don't blow it out of proportions.

Windows Home Server Power Pack 1 goes live {Engadget}

Jul 21st 2008 3:39PM I have to say, that was an extremely fast beta testing period. I put this out until last September, I didn't think it would come out this soon. Score 1 for MS, this is a great update.

Time Warner Cable slings a dozen HD channels to Southern California {Engadget HD}

Jul 1st 2008 4:59PM What wasn't made clear was if these channels will be piped in via SDV. Any word on that? This announcement will mean nothing to me if the channels are SDV only. (TiVo Series 3 User)

Video: AT&T launching Mobile TV May 4th, demonstrated on LG Vu {Engadget}

May 1st 2008 1:58AM Again with the 3G and iPhone comments? This doesn't use a data network at all, this is a separate one way digital broadcast network, similar to your current ATSC feeds.

AT&T announces AT&T Mobile TV for May launch {Engadget}

Mar 27th 2008 7:00PM Well yes, but it's not the same 700mhz that was just auctioned off by the FCC:

FCC Auctioned Blocks A through E which ranges from 746mhz to 794mhz.
Qualcomm currently owns a license for the 716mhz to 722mhz range (Analog TV Channel 55) and is currently using this to deploy MediaFLO.
Aloha used to own 716mhz to 722mhz (Analog channel 54), and was planning on using it for its HiWire Mobile TV service, which is similar to MediaFLO. But then they sold out to AT&T.

AT&T announces AT&T Mobile TV for May launch {Engadget}

Mar 27th 2008 6:19PM Actually, everyone thus far has been wrong. This doesn't use 3G or any data connection at all, this cannot be use with the iPhone or ANY other phone until special hardware is added.

MediaFLO is a completely different broadcast technology that'd dedicated to the delivery of video and not based on cellular frequencies or signals. Think T-DMB and DVB-H style.

"In the United States, the MediaFLO system will use frequency spectrum 716-722MHz, which was previously allocated to UHF TV Channel 55."

Jan 18th 2008 1:02PM Interesting, a WM6 device with 800x480 resolution?

If it has something faster than 400mhz processor, I'm in!
