That was the quickest $5 I've spent at the App Store and it's cheaper than a refill of Xanax. Perfect timing too, my flight from LA to Beijing leaves tomorrow morning.
Hope it works as advertised. Whoopi wouldn't lie, right?
I didn't start using a laptop to take notes until grad school in '02, just as PowerPoint decks in every class were becoming standard. This would have been awesome to use back then. I can see this as a valuable tool for conferences today.
The audio doesn't fit into my note-taking style but I would like to see some way to export the slides with my text in notes section (or on a corresponding following page) to share with others or to use in Windows.
Does this thing work if you DON'T have Verizon home phone service? It would be cool to pick one up cheap on ebay and mess around with it if all it needs is an ethernet connection. Given that it's Verizon, without an over-priced subscription the thing is probably locked down to about as useful as a paperweight.
I'm with glenn s, it's probably a dev mobo that'll eventually end up in Cupertino so all Intel needs to do is slap an Apple sticker on the box and they're legit.
This with a 32GB SSD running Snow Leopard is my dream travelbook - perfect for movie-watching and photo previewing. Nvidia's Ion should have the GPU power handle 12 MP RAW & 720p video from a DSLR.
Although, it's pretty amusing to see that HP is offering an external Blu-ray drive.
I don't know what's worse: the stylus or the blinding blue LED next to the screen. It's like a dual time-warp to 1999 & 2004!
Man, I must be sensitive this morning because this whole article irks me: the snide-not-snarky tone, the implication that it's just for tweens, and the baseless skepticism about performance. For an actual review of the older X4 and newer X41 check out Gizmodo:

Come on Darren, just a little more effort and a little less resentment toward those high-pitched, COD4-playing tweens.
Which dock insert are you using with that iPhone case? I loved my Contour Design case but without a dock insert, all of these docks are useless since I refuse to take it out of the case every time I want to charge or sync.
Thanks, I just ordered this combo last night and it's already shipped. Winning this would certainly take the sting out of getting an RMA.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
