Jun 27th 2007 7:36AM As a serious side note. Vodafone, at least here in the CZE, is a very small operator which aims its services towards young people, mainly students, with very limited budgets for such services.
Therefore, I think, iPhone is comlpetely out of the question for such a ridiculous price of $500 USD! Nobody would buy it, seriously.
The two strongest operators here are O2 and T-Mobile (O2 is the leader in the business market), tehrefore those two are a bit more expensive, but provide some extra services, which would make a bit more sense to offer such a phone, because people who are on O2 or T-Mobile can, potentially, affort such a gadget. Then, again, iPhone is aimed towards fanboys, students and people who desperately want to be "in", so, Vodafone, in our case, is probably a better bet as O2 is very business oriented and T-Mobile is somewhere in-between.
I personally see iPhone, at least in my country, a not-so-hot deal. Especially if we aren't used to such long-term contracts (well, not in case of Vodafone).
I don't know. I personally started to not care about iPhone as soon as they revealed the lack of 3rd party apps. support/development, the lack of some of the must-have features etc... It's really ridiculous, so many nice hw innovations with so much sw degradation.
Besides, Apple, here in Europe, doesn't have such a strong possition. Well, they don't have almost any possition in comparison to the US market. We don't have Apple events, Apple stores or Apple fanboys here (at least not as many).

Oh yeah, we too have idiots over here, maybe twice as many than the US based on the number of iPhones expected to be sold here. :)

No, you really don't have much credit over here, which is sad. I like the idea of freedom, democracy and capitalism, however, what do Americans know about "freedom" actually? 2) Where the fuck gets google the right to order Microsoft what to do or what NOT to do?! I hate Google's desktop search, period (besides, I'm not alone), so, why should Google dictate what should MS take out or in in THEIR VERY OWN PRODUCT?! WTF?! It's like if I was manufacturing cars and some walk-bys would start whining over my garage that they hate the color I picked for my productline and they'd sue me if I don't repaint it. They won't buy it afterwards, they just hated the color, because it makes their own cars less appealing.
Besides, why doesn't anybody else sue Apple for making their iPhone (oh I hate that thing already!) white, because it makes their black phones sales to drop!
I guess, if a robber can sue a guy who was sleeping while the dickhead was robbing him and cut himself from a glass, anything goes in the America!
Hooooraaay! Let's all be like the Americans, it's such a FREE country I can't even start to imagine! They're all so free, they can do whatever they want, like rob and sue the robee (is there such a word?), or hell no, I'll sue microsoft for using a green meadow in WinXP instead of more "ugly" something else, because it makes Linux completely uncompetitive with its geeky desktop images! Or no, better yet, I'll sue engadget for not writing about myself, how great and cool I am (as I really am!) which makes nobody to like me! It's based on nothing actually, but still, I'll sue them!
