I had a chance to play with the iPhone briefly. Definately has the wow factor, but it does seem more like a toy than something you can get work done with.
This seems more practical for advanced computer application like CAD or scientific modeling, rather than personal use. Really, how fast of a computer do you need to run a web browser and MS Word?
I'm not sure how too much paste will cause overheating... The paste itself is a heat conductor. The heat will still be transfered to the fan (or other cooling device). Anyways, it should be designed to not overheat without any thermal paste, as most builders won't apply any.
