The data plans are still way too expensive for me. I will wait for them to get down to $70. I really want a Droid too =(
Google's version is in the 'cloud' only. So that means if you are driving through an area with no signal, you are shit out of luck. I will be curious to see how smart the Google app is in caching upcoming roads.

The only way these competing apps can survive is if they market their products against the 'cloud' idea, allowing for complete map downloads (like current GPS devices). Allowing users to have GPS navigation even when there is no signal.
We are way too 'informed' now a days. Why should I care about this again?
If they had a 'qwerty' style text phone, I would be all over this.
I am guessing Verizon since the user interface icons on that phone looks exactly like my Verizon phone's icons.
The real question in all of this is how much is the cheapest data plan? Sprint is the company that has an affordable plan ($70). Hopefully Verizon and ATT will match it soon.
How do you like it? I was thinking about getting one of those. How does it handle Hulu full screen, and YouTube HD? GPU accelleration coming, but I was curious how it does now, without it. Also, how does it handle Windows 7 MEdia Center user interface? Does it scroll smoothly through the Music menus? Thanks!
With the recent flash GPU announcement, this has my attention. I love the low power consumption of these ION players. Hopefully Adobe/Nvidia coome through with their flash claims, and the fans in these little machines are not too loud. It would be a perfect HTPC for me if so.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
