GTA Chinatown Wars features Wi-Fi connection, but offline multiplayer {Joystiq}
Feb 9th 2009 7:04PM Oh wow, I just realized I completely misread what the original poster said. I thought he said OFFLINE multiplayer isn't practical, and that you were saying it's as practical as online mode is.
I'm going to have to agree and say that online on the DS was plenty practical, and I used to play Mario Kart DS online all the time. It was really easy to sign in and play a few matches.
GTA Chinatown Wars features Wi-Fi connection, but offline multiplayer {Joystiq}
Feb 9th 2009 6:58PM "It's about as practical as handheld, WiFi-based online can be. "
Except instead of just hopping online and going straight to a game,
you have to call one of your friends and have them bring their DS
over and sit within a 20 foot radius of you before you can play. And that's assuming said person will even know someone else with a DS, a copy of GTA, and a surprising willingness to come over anytime they want to play.
Halo 3: ODST will ship with all 24 of Halo 3's multiplayer maps {Joystiq}
Feb 7th 2009 3:14PM Er... this actually seems like pretty lousy news to me. So they're trying to cover up for only having three new maps by giving us all the maps we already own? Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!!!
Eurogamer notes racism in its Resident Evil 5 hands-on {Joystiq}
Feb 5th 2009 10:05PM People cried racism when Aladdin and Jasmine had Anglo-saxon features but the evil baddie (Jafar) looked strongly Arab. it had absolutely no impact on its critical reception or box office sales. Let the whiners feel self-important while it lasts.
Community Games devs still in the dark on sales figures {Joystiq Xbox}
Jan 14th 2009 5:59AM It'd make a lot more sense to remove a game if it receives a certain amount of negative reviews, not the other way around. People are a lot more likely to take action if they feel let down about something than if they're completely satisfied.
Wii Fit and Arduino bring wooden Labyrinth game to robotic life {Engadget}
Jan 12th 2009 9:12PM Holy crap, I used to have that same labyrinth when I was younger. Damn thing took me years to beat the first time, though... although mainly because I was too young to have the hand-eye coordination necessary to work both dials at the same time.
Sony email: PS3 a great value, Xbox "a burden on the wallet" {Joystiq Xbox}
Jan 9th 2009 8:32PM @Yamagushi: since when does the Xbox 360 Elite comes with an HD-DVD player? And I'm not sure if you noticed, but the list you compiled actually makes the Xbox 360 MORE expensive.
Seriously, check your math. You just made the Xbox 360 cost $500 for a 120 GB hard drive, whereas Sony's version has it for $450. The only difference is now you get to play Kung Fu Panda.
17-inch unibody MacBook Pro with non-removable battery rumored for Macworld {Engadget}
Jan 4th 2009 5:38PM @Johan: do you not know the meaning of the word professional or something? A profession is just your job. A professional photographer would need multiple batteries during an extended photo shoot, for example - and he'd be wearing plain clothes the whole time.
17-inch unibody MacBook Pro with non-removable battery rumored for Macworld {Engadget}
Jan 4th 2009 4:56PM There's no way this is going to be true. The MacBooks I could see having a non-removable battery since the average Joe would never need to swap them, but the professional line will absolutely need a removable battery.
Report: PS3 leads Wii ... in web browsing {Joystiq}
Jan 3rd 2009 12:41AM You have a PS3? Can I have sex with you?
Just so you know you could've called it a console, nobody asked for the model.
