Actually, the PS2 has been available here for years, but on the gray market.

But even so, this price is very abusive. A Wii here costs around $650. It's not cheap, but it's much better than a PS2 for $460.

There's also the PS3 and X360 for around $800 each.

Oh, BTW, a basic Toyota Corolla costs around $40k.

That kind of sucks when the average salary is like $1200 - $1500.

Yes, Brazil has the highest taxes in the world.

The import tax is actually much higher than 50%. The basic one if 60% + 18%. And there are others. As you can see the average price is 3x higher than anywhere else.

You just can't go legal in a situation like this. Most of my stuff came from the gray market, including my Wii, my HTC Touch Pro, my computer (Core i5), and a bunch of other things.

I also buy a lot from Ebay and DealExtreme. Usually they come without taxes, and it is much cheaper.
It would be great, if it didn't have a damn glossy screen. What's the point of having a ultraportable if you can't use it on an environment that has any kind of light source?
This one is bootable I think.
So, they made a computer that sleeps 20 hours a day? Good job!
Yeah, I wanted to know the self discharge rate too. Although I don't think these will beat Eneloops on the low power market, like Wiimotes and stuff.
Engadget people, if you so desperately want a physical keyboard, an iPhone definitely wasn't the right choice. So don't blame Apple for your own mistakes.
Girl or phone? =)
33 lumen? Even my pocket Fenix flashlight has more than double that (80) with a single AAA battery.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
