iRiver Spinn gets a release date, fleshed out details {Engadget}

May 30th 2008 5:19PM @Shinigami: the Zen's sound quality is meant to be God-awful and the SD card integration is a joke.

If capacity and size are important, you'd be much better off with something like a Cowon D2 - ok, it only comes in up to 16GB but it will also read from an SDHC card (ie up to a further 32GB some time soon) and unlike the Zen, it completely integrates the contents of the card with the music stored on the player as well.

About that Samsung L870 Safari browser thing... {Engadget}

May 30th 2008 5:17AM I'm not out for blood and, frankly, wouldn't know what to do with any if you were to offer me any.

As I've said already, there are other sites that reported on this story and were fully aware that the 'Safari' mentioned was not Apple's browser, so that renders the whole last sentence/paragraph of the article invalid - it reads as though you are unwilling to accept that your own jumping to conclusions played at least as big a part in this as Samsung's unclear press release.
Now that clearly isn't the case, otherwise you wouldn't have then apologised in a comment later on but if you look at the article itself, it reads as though you're trying to pass the buck.

May 30th 2008 4:45AM Nice.
Delete the comments that highlight the fact that the screw-up was yours and not Samsung's.

It was a fair point, since other sites carrying this story were aware of the fact that the browser in question was just the standard S60 WebKit browser, for you to turn around and place the blame solely with Samsung for your mis-reporting of the matter is a bit rich.

N-Gage users N-Raged by Nokia handset lock-in {Engadget}

May 22nd 2008 3:56PM Most 'cheap' Java games aren't all that cheap either - they go for the best part of $10 each here in the UK.

And, to be honest, while Nokia may be trying to compete with the likes of Sony and Nintendo, I just can't see any of the games being good enough to warrant being priced significantly higher than standard Java games.
I mean, they're meant to be downloadable over-the-air, right? To make that practical, there must have to be a pretty strict limit on the size the game can be and, therefore, how good it will be.

N-Gage users N-Raged by Nokia handset lock-in {Engadget}

May 22nd 2008 7:49AM So, in other words, this is just the same as any other purchased games for mobile phones but for some reason you're trying to sensationalise this so that it's newsworthy?
