So you're saying RIP netbook because a 12 inch computer is a laptop? A netbook is not a tweener device, people carry them instead of their laptops.

I think the basic netbook concept has and will continue to flourish. Although I've used a relatively 'tiny underpowered' Thinkpad X40 as my second computer for years now, it does sing the netbook song. The important aspects of the netbook are the lack of an internal optical drive and the inherent attention drawn to a web browser and a very basic software suite, both things that anyone who traveled with any of the old compacts would tell you.

The fact is that plenty of people realize they don't want the beef. They just want to check their email and stalk people on facebook, which a small computer is just fine for.

Again, the netbook is not just about screen size, it is about simplicity and portability - I guarantee the 7-10inchers will continue to sell, especially as their screen resolutions continue to increase.
looks a lot more like a winmo skin (perhaps www.pointui.com) to me

no dedicated number keys on the fuze is a big dealbreaker for me... which makes the lessened ram of the vzw a dealbreaker and the sprint model my winner.

i haven't had the pleasure of using the x1 but the increased resolution would be nice.
oddly enough I have noticed this... i never expect to be on hold less than 5-10 minutes whenever I call a CS rep for any company but they've been really fast lately
if you actually read the article you will see that nick neg is essentially saying that the most important changes in TV will not be with resolution but rather with delivery and he outlines various set top box delivery issues like VOD etc

obviously HDTV has been a big deal but hes saying that digital services will change TV more
Heh,

360 on launch day, death 1 in feb 2006, death 2 in march 2007, death 3 in may 2007 - just got my new box... such is life.
"I guess you could say it has a beginning, but I really can't seem to find the start. Everyone has their problems, and I'm no different. I worked with someone who's brother was dying of AIDS, who's parents were killed, no nuclear family, no grandparents, no extended family. They've died, been killed or are dying of something. I'm no less or greater than that person. We just both know struggle, and thats how we live. We just know."

...
is it just me or are these graphics some of worst i have seen on 360?

i understand the gameplay>graphics thing but i dont understand it when people are lauding the character models, which are obviously simple (looks like gamecube) and the landscapes, which also look last gen
Hey Paul Miller,

I know you make a lot of posts but this and the EVDO/EDGE Sprint/Cingular weren't too great.

The whole it can rumble and tilt thing has been done, and done far better -

This is a link to a post that has a video from Playstation Magazine of an editor playing PS1 Warhawk (1995) with a Pelican Tilt Master 2 (1999) controller tilting and rumbling

http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2006/06/24/revolutionary-ps3-controller-used-to-rumble-in-1999/

If you're going to bring that up - you gotta throw it back
didnt 99 nights already come out???
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
