The term 60i and 30i are the same. Opposing circles refer to it differently, but it means the same. An analog guy would say 60i (that's what it is), and a digital guy would say 30i because the image is stored progressively at 30 full frames (aka 30p), but when displayed the decoder understand to show only top or bottom fields producing 60 frames (minus HALF the resolution).

So if something can do 30i, it can do 30p and 60i.
And what is wrong with sniffing one's own farts?
1080p what? 1080p@ 10fps? 24fps? 30fps? How about 60p, because that's what 1080p means to me. That doesn't mean a manufactures want you to think it's 60p, but sells you 30p.
And was it organized labor that got us to this collapse? Remember why we got here! It wasn't unions that got us to this point. And for some reason the union stereotype lives on in the hearts and minds of every facet of our society. A long slow death for unions and the middle class and 2/3 of our economic engine: spending.

/tips hat to you
Lost of bad reviews and a few bugs.

1. h.264 support is limited to 480x320. That's not a typo people. h.264 is the future. They hope to increase this to 640x480. Oooooooooo! Watch out!
2. They expect you to transcode anything that is not natively supported. Have fun with waiting 2 hours to transcode all you h.264 collection.
3. WMV video is limited to a MAX 720/24p. Non of the sample HD video in Microsoft's own site plays on the Slingcatcher! WOW!
4. The only HD resolutions available are in mpeg 2.
5. Did I mention h.264 is decoded in software? YEP. The hardware inside the Slingcatcher was spec'd 2 years ago.
6. sling.com integration is not available....yet
7. Slingsync is not available, Slingmedia is blowing the dust off SNEAKERNET.
8. No wifi, YEP. This thing was spec'd 2 years ago, yet they still didn't include it.
9. No HD streaming from the Slingbox Pro HD. They say this is planned for LAN viewing only.
10. No HD streaming from Slingbox Pro HD for remote viewing EVER.
11. There is a remote viewing bug that drops streaming speeds each time you change the channel. WOOOO!

Since the Slingbox Pro HD uses h.264 for streaming and the catcher is limited to 480x320 (640x480 in the furture) h.264, can you guess why HD isn't planned for remote viewing?

Try waiting for Slingcatcher 2.0 and let the rest of us fan boys beta test this terrible product.

Do I sound angry?
Shucks. I thought they were talking about 1080/60p, and not 1080/24p. There's a big difference there. I wonder how many consumers will get bit by this one.
Crush the walled garden! Let us all frolic in the garden!
FF doesn't crash on me, but it does become unresponsive randomly when I watch embedded Vimeo clips. I thought it had something to do with me using my mouse wheel while the video played, but I can't seemed to reproduce it.

Any others have this problem?
I just waisted 6 minutes and 9 seconds of my life.
How much did you go over on your Time Warner CAP after watching 1 HD movie? The rental is $5, but the bandwidth over usage is another $5.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
