What an ugly box, looks like Microsoft Clipart Boxes from the eighties...
Looks exactly like a white macbook air? So why is it supposed to be über-ugly? I like it, much better form factor than netbooks and 449$ for a 1280x800 display notebook (sans optical drive) with macbook air measurements isnt bad at all..
I had several sony network-walkmen (or whatever they are calling their mp3 players) including the NWS703FB with noise cancelling headphones. And even though the price of the mp3 plus noise cancelling headphones was only a fraction of these it worked extremely well on flights, it was the first time i could sleep for a longer while in a plane.

So I imagine for this price they must be even better and sony is still the most advanced company when it comes to hardware thats cutting edge... (even though there software and marketing sucks).
@anthony909: I think you are a typical macbook air user. You dont know the difference between "there" and "their" but think you are great because you carry a low-spec show off laptop around which is easily beaten spec-wise (and design wise) by many sony vaios. Get a life, it's not a laptop that makes a person great...
Wow... "scientistic" benchmarks....
DIE, GLOSSY, DIE ALREADY!!! I am so sick of glossy Displays, glossy keyboars, glossy phones. Fingerprints everywhere and unusable in the sunlight... I am happy I can have the matte one on the Pre!
They even have a starter edition OSX PC for 499,- Euro including the OS. Not too bad...
I totally agree. Multitouch is only a gimmick anyway (and even a mostly useless) and
it doesnt matter in which os, but engadget uses it to bash the Win7 BETA, since they
dont seem to find anything else that's not well done. (Must be hard for engadget that
apple will become the boring company again that it was before Steve Jobs came back
to rescue them...)
Looking at it positively: While engadget is going down the drain, we get a really good next
version of Windows.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
