Pro Tools software is inseperably tied to its hardware component. That's why in Europe there's a large base of Reason users. M-Audio loves ripping people off. Any versions you might find online claiming to be cracks working without hardware should probably be avoided.
Guys I'm pretty sure that's a cat. Notice the adorable voice.
I'm pretty sure your average person would fully understand and appreciate the difference between a $15, $40, and a $150 dollar pair of headphones. They may not necessarily care enough to spring for the $150 pair, and they probably won't notice the difference between $150, $300, and $3,000 phones, but three-figure headphones are no laughing matter. My pair of Shure e4cs were worth every penny and I absolutely love them, they make my music a joy which I look forward to constantly, but not everyone values that as much as I do.
Do you get your news from any sources other than liberal sensationalist blogs? Do you realize China is one of the 5 nations that lead the UN? Do you realize that most people in China live relatively peaceful, happy, normal lives in which they are free to fret over trivial shit like whether or not to get that two-tone leather interior--much like yourself?
I interned under an anesthesiologist and I witnessed many, many electroconvlusive therapy sessions.

It's funny that people above are bashing others for not knowing about ECT outside movies and books when they clearly know nothing about it themselves. ECT is completely humane, the patient is sedated and anesthetized during the procedure, the only convulsing that occurs is flexing of the foot which is purposefully allowed to monitor the physical effect. ECT has no more to do with creating a "pavlovian response" to heal deeply pathological behaviors (which is utterly impossible, btw) than orthopedic surgery psychologically conditions a patient to stop having joint pain. Additionally, ECT is only used in extreme cases where other medication has failed, typically reserved to severe depression, bipolar disorder, and schizoaffective disorder.

While it is true that some memory loss can be a side effect, having seen the way this bizarrely effective therapy truly helps people lead fairly normal lives which would be utterly impossible otherwise, this is an acceptable side effect, especially when considering the inevitable side effects of alternative treatments.

The fact that this doctor used ECT on teenage internet addicts, however, in addition to psychotropic drugs is ridiculous. Addiction is not treatable by ECT as far as I know, and even if it were, there is no reason to treat it with anything other than therapy and possibly some (non-psychoactive) medication in extreme cases. Besides, who the hell is trusting a doctor who's nicknamed "Uncle?" That sounds like something George Orwell would have been proud to make up.
FUCK MICHAEL BAY, UNREPENTANTLY AND RUDELY.

ahem.
Of course it's not putting out more energy than it's taking in--if it were, they'd have unlocked the secret to breaking physics and perpetual motion--but that's not what efficiency means. Efficiency is dependent upon how much energy is retained during the conversion process (chemical -> mechanical -> electrical or solar/heat -> mechanical -> electrical). If you calculate the actual efficiency of any process you'd be surprised by how much energy is lost by virtually every conversion we use. So whether it's capturing the sun's energy or burning fuels, this plant will undoubtedly waste a lot of energy along the way, like any other plant. Simply because it obtains energy from multiple sources doesn't mean it necessarily wastes more.
You don't see Jimmy Page and DJ AM because that makes precisely fuckall sense. There's a plethora of guitar-driven bands with a turntablist/drum machine than there are drummer/turntablist combos. For typical music it's a bit redundant.
I liked it better when I thought it said "inoperable pretend instruments."
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
