MIT's new "invisible" wind turbines float offshore {Engadget}

Sep 26th 2006 6:56PM I agree with xcehch, everytime I see a wind turbine I feel slightly joyous, because it means that slowly but surely we're moving toward alternative energy sources.

They should definitely implement this on a mass scale...sure it's expensive, but with all the constant energy being generated (put em in Florida...BRING ON THE HURRICANES!!!) they'd even the cost in no time! And besides, once they break even in cost, they'd be making almost 100% profit, since wind is free!

Levi's iPod Jeans -- break the bank, look like a dork {Engadget}

Sep 17th 2006 3:10PM Who cares about the lameness, it looks like total CRAP! Look at the controls...cheap plasticly crap. Even the jeans look like they're from Wal-Mart.

Tangled up in Bluetooth {Engadget}

Sep 9th 2006 10:20PM Why is it that Engadget Chinese has really nice mockup pics of the iPhone, but the main Engadget doesn't have anything?

And back to the bluetooth...I can't wait till it comes out so I can waste my money and get a new iPod...I use a Griffin FM Transmitter in my car, which works well, but it's a freakin' plumbing device blocking my access to the A/C button and the fan. I don't know why Jobs likes to piss everyone off so much.

Computer program can beat people at crosswords {Engadget}

Sep 1st 2006 6:22PM @ funetik

Yeah, i had a feeling that it was wrong when I typed "iRobot", but i was like "what the hell, everything else has that 'i' prefix anyway"... :P

Computer program can beat people at crosswords {Engadget}

Sep 1st 2006 4:38PM Sometimes while channel surfing, I happen to catch a 50's or 60's "futuristic" movie, which warns of impending "robot" domination. Hell, even iRobot had that message, althought i learned more about product placement from that movie.

Do we actually NOT care about the destruction of humanity? It's bad enough that we have fast food, SUVs, and tech to make us even more lazy and fat, but we are really asking to get owned by machines.

We are definitely the stupidest creatures on this planet, the only ones who are willing to self-destruct.

Bomb scare at Ottawa airport just an iPod {Engadget}

Aug 29th 2006 11:48AM @ weird an yep, you guys are stupid. Especially yep.

There IS a reason why Canadians are always seen as very liberal, ESPECIALLY by our neighbours down South (weird if you are American, then you are even more stupid than I originally thought).

And yep, I can't wait till you can leave my country and join your redneck Republican friends in their quest to end democracy in the US of A.

Last time I checked, most Americans were complaining about how their rights were being infringed upon, etc etc. Why else do you think that sites like DemocracyNow were started for?

Idiots, pathetically hopeless.

Vista pricing leaked? {Engadget}

Aug 28th 2006 10:35PM Hasn't Bott ever heard of taking a screenshot? It's very simple: 1) hit the PrtScrn button 2) paste in MS Paint 3) save.

At least we could have a visual this way.

And to all who are complaining about the price (already): get a fake copy, jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

Tachikoma, the killer spider tank toy now available {Engadget}

Aug 28th 2006 11:21AM Why is Engadget always referring to Wikipedia nowadays?!

I always thought that Engadget found stuff, THEN the news spread to wiki.

Giant Swiss Army Knife offers 85 tools {Engadget}

Aug 27th 2006 7:24PM Victorinox is the "original" or military SAK, Wenger is considered the "scout". Wenger has useful knives too, it just depends on what you use SAKs for. They make watches too...I just came back from Switzerland (where SAKs and watches and chocolates and Audis and Bimmers are abundant) and I got a nice Wenger watch...only 125 francs!

But anyway, i have seen this humongous knife...it's absolutely ridiculous in size and price. But then again, i was in Switzerland...everything is ridiculously priced (except chocolate, most of the time).

p.s. theft deterrant? just swing it in the direction of the thief, problem solved.

Terrorist plot results in air ban of gadgets {Engadget}

Aug 11th 2006 3:53PM Those BASTARDS are such...BASTARDS!

Oh my gosh...I'm heading to Heathrow (from Toronto) tomorrow, and I'm gonna have to go seven hours without my iPod. But it's not as flying without a camera on-board -- I like take pictures of clouds in the air!

I guess the terrorists have still succeeded...causing trouble for all of us 8-).
