To understand Obama you need to be aware of the following (well publicised) statements by an (anonymous) british officer in Afghanistan:

"A BRITISH commander in Afghanistan has asked the US military to withdraw its special forces from his area because the high level of civilian casualties they have caused are turning people against coalition soldiers.

[...]

The officer said small teams of special forces relied heavily on air strikes for cover as they were unable to defend themselves against large groups of insurgents."

i.e. the british commander alleges that americans are using air power because of lack of manpower and that this is detrimental to the overall war effort. So this may or may not be true, it may be that the jobs done by these small teams just couldn't be achieved with larger teams etc. - but it seems obvious that this interview was the basis for Obama's statement.

Because forcing a woman to bear a child is fundamentally beyond what a state should be allowed to legislate (and reflects the imposition of particular interpretations of some religions on the whole population).

You got to be joking! You do realize that this is just the seller pitching his product? And you realized that they talk about "sea-based cruise missiles" - not balistic missiles like those on most submarines (or air launched cruise missiles, intercontinental missiles, bombs smuggled in etc).
ahh, who cares about more Pixels?? We need less noise at higher ISO ratings and a higher dynamic range (maybe even build in support for HDR photography?).
These feeds are not going to solve the problem - I, like I guess most other people experiencing iFatigue - will want important! IPhone news (like the date of the Europe launch), just not 1000th mindless apple fanboy post. There feeds don't achieve that.

I for one am looking for a different gadget site; until I find one I'm waiting for the first person smashing an iPhone with a sledge hammer - that's the one iPhone post I'ld like to see.
When will people finally realize that this struggle against violent islamist extremism cannot be won by arms alone but only by winning over "hearts and minds". And it is here that you find the reason to close Guantanamo: as a symbol of injustice it has damaged Americas cause more than all the inmates could ever do (in particular now that there names and faces are known). Yes, they'll always be people that want nothing else but kill Americans, people that cannot be won over - but it makes all the difference whether you have 10 thousand or 10 million enemies.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
