Nine years later, the Dream(cast) continues {Joystiq}
Sep 10th 2008 5:16AM Bought my first dreamcast a few weeks ago. $50 with 20 games. It gets more play then my Xbox360. Yesterday the Xbox RROD-ed on me and I haven't even filled in the repair form yet.
Singapore announces game rating system {Joystiq}
Apr 14th 2008 9:51PM Off course the rating system itself hasn't been two years in the making but the Mass Effect situation has triggered the final implementation at last. Instead of bashing this look at the good side, games that were previously banned can now be legally sold in Singapore. Easy to rant about the strict rules here but you try to live on an island this small with 5 major religions and plenty of nationalities without major problems.
Scientists scold celebrities for promoting Brain Age {Joystiq}
Jan 4th 2008 12:08AM Those cooky scientists! Next thing they'll tell us that our ancestors were apes or that the earth is round! Humbug I say you, humbug!

Sex Worker Alliance: GTA normalizes violence against sex workers {Joystiq}
Dec 17th 2007 6:52PM Hmm I wonder if they celebrate this special day down at Madam Wu's House of Pain? To be serious though, violence of any kind against real people is horrible. That's what we have FPS and beat em ups for. When my girlfriend left me for my best friend I was playing Quake for days. They should be grateful I had that game so I could take my anger out on pixels instead of them.

GameSpot posts official Gerstmann firing notice {Joystiq}
Dec 3rd 2007 10:09PM I long for the good old days when magazines like Computer & Videogames weren't afraid to publish bad reviews. Why doesn't the publisher of Top Gear magazine take up the challenge and make a site or magazine in the same style as Top Gear? Gerstmann could be the Clarkson of gaming land.
Selfless crazies play Desert Bus for charity {Joystiq}
Nov 23rd 2007 12:25AM They should use this game as an alternative for waterboarding. Cruel and unusual indeed....
Poor sales of Space Giraffe make Jeff Minter sad {Joystiq}
Nov 22nd 2007 11:33PM Minter is one of my all time game heroes but if he starts to talk like that he can take his game and sh@ve it. Anyway, I didn't even know that he had a game out but I do know that most old-time fans from the days of Attack of the Mutant Camels and Mama LLama aren't on X-Box live because they have a busy job or just no interest in consoles. Minters games were original and very addictive back in the day but after the 600th version of Colourspace I kind of lost track of old hairy llamalover.
Mass Effect banned in Singapore over lesbian scene {Joystiq}
Nov 15th 2007 2:55AM I don't think so. It's bans like this that promote piracy because the only way to get it is downloading or going to Johor Baru.
Oh, by the way mr Jake11, I've actually lived in New York and speak from experience. Love the city but wouldn't want to live there anymore.
