Well, they did also list Apple's iPhone and Leopard among the top 15 disappointments. So, given that these two have both proven to be huge successes for Apple (despite some legitimate complaints at the launch of each), PCWorld clearly has a skewed idea of what constitutes a disappointment. If they were going to pick on an Apple product as one of the top tech let-downs of the year, where's the Apple TV on this list?
More to the point: Why?
"The move is certainly likely to shift TiVo into Big Brother's list of most highly-regarded outfits," says the guy who works at AOL. Who, incidentally, owns the most sophisticated behavioral targeting advertising technology on the planet.

But seriously, I don't understand why anyone has objections to being served more relevant ads. You are going to get served ads, via TV, print, the Internet, no matter where you go. These types of research technologies just help to make the ads more relevant for you, and more effective for the advertisers who subsidize all of your entertainment costs. If you don't want ads, go pay $2 an episode at iTunes or Amazon Unbox, and see how quickly your entertainment bills add up!
Check out RemoteBuddy. It's pretty awesome and lets you control not just FrontRow, but almost anything on your Mac from the iPhone.
Or how about, guys, you just scroll right past the articles you don't want to read? That's what I do every time there's an article about the XBox or PlayStation. Don't care, don't read it. You're the only ones wasting your own time by reading--and commenting on, no less--news you don't care about. I hate to say it, but that's just being a troll.
Ditto. This is clearly, 100% aimed at competing with the iMac, right down to the choice of colors/materials. And the only thing it's really got over the iMac is the dual, easily-swappable hard drive bays. That is a nice feature that Apple could really stand to implement.

But still, this totally shoots the "Apple is more expensive" arguments right it the foot.
Depending on what the screen size turns out to be, it also seems like the iMac may be a better bargain. Starting price of $1,300 with a 1.5GHz Core 2 Duo? The iMac starts at $1,199 with a 2.0 GHz part in it.
Doesn't mean the PC will be a ripoff, but the teaser invite sure is. Isn't that even the same FONT Apple uses?!
You raise a good point. I've always been puzzled by the Segway because I don't really see the benefit over a bicycle. It's got about the same speed and range as most bike riders, and allows you to carry just as little along with you, yet it costs $5,000 and doesn't give you any exercise.
I totally buy that this is real. My latest AT&T bill is several pages long, and it only includes a few days with the iPhone data plan. I just switched to paperless billing--as easy as a single mouse-click--to avoid an unboxing photo gallery of my own next month!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
