[in my best napoleon voice] yessssss!!!
dylan, you need to bring your macbook into your apple store, or contract apple IMMEDIATELY if you don't live where there's an apple store. at some point, you're going to have a serious problem via the crack, albeit fire, meltdown or some other hazardous issue. i've had one magsafe and two battery replacements on my black macbook 2006 and they've replaced all of them immediately. don't play around with your safety or your macbook and go take care of your battery asap!
met, thx for this link, that looks like a possibly decent fix!
jason, please explain how/where you see the uniform commercial code being applicable to this issue, as i deal with the ucc and don't see the correlation here.

thanks
@ Liam

i not only have leopard installed on my dual 1.42ghz mirrored door g4, but i have leopard SERVER on it! it's zippy as hell with a 1tb raid 1 setup via a sonnet sata raid card with 4 drives total - 2 on the raid and 2 on ide/ata with the max 2gb ram. i also have two g5 dual 2.5ghz/2gb g5's that run the same thing, and i don't really see a huge performance difference between the g4 and g5's.

buy leopard, install it on your mirrored g4, and enjoy without fear!

cheers,
-a
i have undercover by orbicule on my macbook, and they've FINALLY come out with undercover for the iphone - which i've long been waiting for. i'd spoken to customer service at orb and they told me a few months back that they'd soon be coming out with it, and did! also, when i say they have AMAZING customer service, and reply extremely quickly, it's an understatement. they really have their software together and cs together, as they assist you in recovering your mac or iphone. price is nice too - check it out!

The leading theft-recovery app for the Mac is now available for the iPhone. It's like having a private detective on your phone.

Undercover: iPhone Home
Undercover can help you locate any lost or stolen iPhone or iPod.
Upon registration, you will receive your own Undercover account at https://www.retrievemyiphone.com. Every time the Undercover application is launched, the phone's location and IP information is stored in your account. You can then login to your account to track the device.

If your iPhone is lost, you can set a message that will be displayed to the finder when he launches Undercover. In the meantime, Undercover will transmit your phone's location.

If your iPhone is stolen, Undercover will pretend to be a game. This will encourage the thief to wait a few seconds for the game to load, enabling Undercover to get accurate location information. This location information is then added to your account and transmitted to the police station where you reported the theft.
um.....has anyone seen my stapler......
wowwee, pick me!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
