You're right, here in Australia you can buy "instant start" Osram and Mirabella globes (that have a instant-start halogen bulb in the middle of a compact fluro.) at local chain SUPERMARKETS so it sure as hell isn't new, because im sure grocery stores arn't usually a year ahead of cutting edge electronics.
Previous QSTARZ GPS were based on the MediaTek GPS receiver chips, which have been shown in several reviews to be a fair amount better than SirfStarIII based receivers, so if this is using an updated MT GPS chip there is a good chance it is currently the best consumer-grade receiver around.
allen_singer: RTFA... wear levelling prevents any one sector of the drive being written to significantly more than any other, it will "move" the page file to a different sector if it is being continually written to.
I agree, when I was in Hongkong unlocked iPhones were going for under US$400 if you knew where to look, why would people bother buying into a lock-in contract when you can walk down the street and pick one up with less restrictions?
People bash MS but at least you can install whatever you want on a WinMobile based phone.
Actually the world wide/asia versions of HTC phones do have full gps. It's only the usual US carrier customizations that require a-gps. Also the cruise is already available and shipping outside the US, held up most likely by those same carrier requirements/customizations.
XDR actually isn't that fast, Rambus just publishes it's performance numbers based on the combination of all the chips lanes, whereas GDDR speeds are based per pin meaning GDDR5 is much faster than XDR when taken as a whole package. Also gb2/SonyDefenceForce just because Engadget compared the ram to the PS3's GDDR dosn't mean they were attacking the PS3.
I-Mate "split" with HTC this year and so no longer rebrand HTC handsets. Now im not certain if I-Mate are making these themselves or rebadging another less-known manufacturer or not.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
