I've had Windows in general for 10 years now and I've never ever seen a "Blue Screen" from a hardware failure (that's because people don't know how to correctly install hardware). I'm very happy with Windows Vista- I got it the day it came out. There are a few things I would change but all in all it's a great secure upgrade.
