Dell rolls out updated Studio 15 laptop {Engadget}

Apr 21st 2009 4:40PM You do realize that 1280x800 is not "WAY higher resolution" than 1366x768. In fact, 1280x800 is 25,088 fewer pixels.

Kindle 2 gets its first firmware update {Engadget}

Mar 19th 2009 8:48PM What?
First off, Apple (unlike Amazon and Sony) does not make a dedicated ebook reader so you shouldn't even compare it.
Second, Apple charges for major updates for the iPod Touch, but it doesn't charge for major updates for the iPhone.

Video: iPhone OS 3.0 walkthrough {Engadget}

Mar 18th 2009 7:13PM That's the way the Stocks app (and other things like Weather) have always looked, since the original iPhone two years ago.

Joyswag: Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack {Joystiq}

Feb 23rd 2009 6:58PM I'm most looking forward to Sandbox. I've got some map ideas that will only work with the cavern and sky layer in that level!

XBLA darling Braid lands on PC March 31st [update] {Joystiq}

Feb 18th 2009 12:13AM "The Space Giraffe problem" was not that it was priced too cheaply... it was just that it was a terrible game. I contributed to those 19k sales (and felt like an idiot later once I realized that I got not an ounce of enjoyment out of the game) but wouldn't have wasted any money on it if it had been priced any higher.

Apple suddenly approves a bunch of browsers for App Store; major policy shift in progress? {Engadget}

If by "stole IE from Spyglass" you mean "legitimately bought the rights to use the Spyglass Mosaic code, which was originally developed by the NCSA", then yes I guess so.

And Netscape, of course, also used code from NCSA Mosaic.

Shinoda's 125-inch curved plasma to hit assembly lines by May, all 7.9-pounds of it {Engadget}

Oct 30th 2008 5:15PM Yep, it would be useful for signs and nothing else. I've got a 126" screen in my living room and even 1080p is almost-not-enough.

Canon's PowerShot SD990 IS and SD880 IS for 'trendsetting techies' -- right {Engadget}

Sep 22nd 2008 11:30PM @kadajawi:
Whether or not the SD880's zoom is "better" depends on your definition anyway. The 4x zoom does not mean what I think you think it means.

The SD990 has a 36-133mm (35mm equiv.) lens. The SD880 has 28-112mm. That means that the SD880 has a wider angle of view, but the SD990 has a longer telephoto or "reach".

Freak Peek sneak peek leaks, piques curiosity {Engadget}

Aug 26th 2008 9:52PM @Cerberus:
Oh my God.... Learn to use words properly, please. YOU'RE and BIASED.

It's going to be a fiesta filled Halo 3 weekend {Joystiq Xbox}

Jul 11th 2008 12:20AM If you love Fiesta, just buy the Legendary map pack.. It's only $7.50 for three good maps, the ability to play Cold Storage in playlists, and all the Double EXP weekends!
