I really want to win this.
Man, thank god! HOW did people hold cameras before this?!! It's like back when all tools were not coated in super grippy rubber and no one could hold a god damn thing without it flying out of their hand every 3 seconds!! How did we manage to build ANYTHING?! Now we can finally take pictures without having to set our cameras on a table!

:)
The new design looks like a Chinese knockoff of the original PS3 (Which, it kind of is..) But cheap to make.

It's like the Vii to the Wii. Or the shitty version of a 'real' console you'd find at a hotel, or hospital.
In five years, it will be 2014. I see myself with a three year old child, little Batman Gandalf, who is just starting to get the hang of Super Mario Bros. (Which I've decided, needs to be my child's first video game. I can't have him growing up without instinctively knowing how to play through world 1-1) We'll already have had a close-call with the asteroid Apophis back in 2013, so that will be cool. Plus we'll get a modern remake of 'Deep Impact' simply called D.I. :Reloaded and a sequel to the hit Armegeddon, Armegeddon II: Curse of the Moon Stones, starring a grizzly and bearded Bruce Willis, who miraculously survived the explosion from the first Armegeddon, and is back on Earth- just in time to save the world from the moon colliding with the blue planet. I am fist pumping just thinking about the trailer, let alone the game tie-in. I can't wait.
I just wanted to point out- Joystiq is kind of 'technically' owned by TW, who owns Weblogs, Inc., A network of weblogs including Engadget, TVSquad, Cinematical, AutoBlog and Joystiq.
Yeah I used to have a little roomba that did OK for picking up black lab hair on my white tile floor. Not having to vacuum all the time was -great- until my cat decided he liked to sit on the Roomba (usually pressing the ON button by accident) so I was woken in the night a few times by the little cheery doot-dooDOOTDOO! Roomba ON sound, and its loud vaccuum. Now I just Dyson, but it would be nice to get a pet roomba for in-betweenies again.
Ugh, I posted but forgot the @gmail.com after my e-mail. Hopefully this counts!
Whoops.. Joystick, not Joystiq! :)
Ranelar - I played EVE for a bit, it's a LOT of doing jobs, MINING, and building things with resources, forming corporations and alliances... And you don't techinically 'fly' your ship, you just sort of click where you want it to go or choose a location from a menu. Still a very deep and cool game, but this seems to be a lot more "hop in and fly around with your friends.. swooping around under your own control and shooting stuff." I know they've put a lot of effort into keyboard + mouse control as well as simultaneously considering joystiq control during development. Still sounds fun, just different fun.
This one has been on my radar for quite awhile, looking foward to seeing what it's like to play! Another thing to look forward to alongside Mortal Online and Darkfall.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
