If apple is worried about being audited that means they are doing things that shouldn't be done. Fraudulent things.
They are free.
At Andrew:
First of all its Tim not Tom

Second of all...
"Why would apple put millions of dollars into developing new software updates for people who don't give them money on a monthly basis?"
What about all of the other free software updates that they spend millions of dollars on?
I couldn't even upgrade my laptop.
lol i was thinking that too!
If this is the way this is going to go its not even worth it. Apple needs to get off their hi horse grow some balls and give people what they want. I would rather have them wait until it is ready then try to do it early. Can anyone say Microsoft? It kind of reminds me of Vista.
You sound like you work for a cell phone company
So what about all of us who already have cell phone plans? Would we get to cancel our contracts early without a fine too? Or do we get screwed and still have to wait?
People actually hack something like this?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
