@Guruboy's "Well you're sure not going to get an HD projector for $1500, that's a no-brainer."

Huh? Panny 900 is an HD projector, which currently can be bought new for ~$1400 (counting a $400 mail in rebate).
I've got a Panasonic AE900 (projector) in my living room giving me a 115 inch screen size for a very small fraction of the price of this smaller screen.

Sure, the plasma won't require the low-light environment the projector does, but you could buy the projector for less than $1500, some quality blackout blinds/curtains to keep light off the screen for a couple grand, and then end up with a larger screen size you can watch whenever you want AND $45,000+ extra dollars in your pocket...

BS. This quote doesn't suggest that people will never buy things they can get for free -- it suggests that people are interested in convenience, and that convenience is being provided currently by copyright infringers, not copyright holders.

Bill didn't sit down and think, "Hey, I could buy this old movie for $20 or I could get it for free -- free it is!" -- he thought something more like "Hey, there's this neat video available instantly at my fingertips, and it would take lots of time and effort to find a legal version (if one is even available today), so I'm going to use the more convenient option."
Bah. At first I thought "4K" meant $4,000... An 18,000 lumen projector for $4,000 would have rocked.
Only problem I've had is the movie-skipping problem. For example, I had the DOAX2 trailer already downloaded. I had watched it, erm, several times before the update with no problems. I then watched it yet again (-_-) after the update and there were major skipping issues.
>>However, that was when Veritas was an independent company -- Symantec only acquired Veritas in 2004, hence the dispute.
"22. #11 and #20 - They were thinking that it would make people who are on the fence because of the reported overheating issues with the 360 more likely to buy the newer unit when it comes out."

It's currently April 2006. This newer unit isn't coming out until *2007* - your explanation might make sense if the newer unit were going to be available next month, but making the announcement this far out, and essentially telling people that if you buy a 360 today, you're getting out-dated technology, is mind-blowingly stupid.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
