Better or worse than wdtv?
I wouldnt mind getting this to improve my cell phone signal but why would AT&T expect me to pay them an ongoing monthly fee? After all they are just allowing me to redirect the cell phone signal over my existing broadband which i already pay someone else for. I can see a one time fee for the actual device itself but an ongoing monthly fee makes no sense. It must be for all the equipment that AT&T needs to maintain on their end to actual route phone calls over the internet.
So is there a retail cablecard tuner on the market that one can just go buy and attach to their machine? Does this open up new possibilities for TIVO or did they always have cablecard support?
No digital audio output ports other than HDMI? That sux for playing back hd content with DD/DTS unless you have a newer hdmi receiver.
What's the difference between sending a pic over an email or over MMS? aren't they both sending data over AT&T's data network?
Damn and I just bought a WDTV for $88 shipped after bing rebate .. if this thing does what it says its easily worth $99 ... but from what i've heard the specs dont necessarily give the true picture of its ability to play videos ... guess we'll see the reviews when it comes out ... i'm a bit worried that they offer a discount for preordering .. that usually means they want people to buy it before reviews are out ... if this thing does everything it says there is no reason they couldnt price it a $129 ...
Did you not read my reply? Yes it output DD 5.1 in 5.1 thru optical. Its really just passing digital audio thru....
The WD TV1 outputs both DD 5.1 and DTS and stereo to your audio receiver via optical cable so the WD TV2 should do as well.
That looks like its $130 euros ... closer to $200 ...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
