that looks like a FW symbol to me, but my mind may be playing tricks on me knowing there is a FW port somewhere...
On my current MBP, the gray plastic around the jacks are part of the case, because when my I/O board was replaced the first time, my ports did not line up to the holes after getting it back.
So from this picture it appears most (if not all) of the ports will be relocated to the left side? Lol, they look strikingly familiar to my 12" powerbook that I still love :D

The only thing I buy from the store is hardware bc of the edu discount. Everything else (accessories, software) I buy from third party online stores (amazon, macmall, smalldog, etc.). I love my macs but don't really have the income to support my habit so I have to make sacrifices here and there. :)
