It is industry standard to charge an activation fee... lame, but standard.

Anyway, these prices are VERY reasonable. Frankly, I'm shocked. It makes it that much tougher to wait out the first generation.
Why on Earth would I want a "real keyboard" on the iPhone? Then it would be just another crappy, bulky-yet-flimsy plastic slider phone. It won't happen, it shouldn't happen, so let's drop it, shall we? :)

However, I for one AM waiting for 3G. I simply don't buy the "but it has WiFi and EDGE is good enough anyway" excuse. It's bad enough going from a Sprint SERO plan unlimited Power VIsion, tons of minutes, texts, and full insurance for 40 bucks to AT&T's likely $100+ BS. I won't tolerate an accompanying SLOWER data service for more than twice the money.
What community college dropouts are RUNNING Palm?? This impotent laptop is going to sell less than the LifeDrive, and at least LifeDrive was a moderately acceptable idea.

Between Windows Mobile, the iPhone, and Palm's own chronic ineptitude, Palm Inc is so beyond dead, they need a new word for dead.
You can't upgrade your library until Apple opens the iTunes Plus section of iTunes. The US Store does not yet have an iTunes Plus section, though I imagine it would any minute now.
Wow. Two companies that REALLY belong together.
Someone needs a hug.
This would have been a great product if it had AAC support. I guess they think it is wiser to go after the WMA crowd (population = dozens).

By the way, MSC?? What is this, 2000? You really want to drag files from your hard drive to a player?? That is REALLY easier than smart-tagging and automatic syncing? Is this in the same universe where WMA is a viable codec and market?
Looks good. But really, at this point, how can they not include AAC support?
Maybe I've missed it, but in all the talk of iChat Theater, I haven't seen whether or not this is .mac-only, or whether AIM accounts can take advantage as well.

Do we know this yet?
If he "comes out of hiding," Microsoft can just refile. They dismissed their claims without prejudice.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
