Am I to read this correctly? Has everyone including Engadget been touting the diversity of the new "unlocked" iPhone to only now be telling the consumers the truth about it only being able to connect to ONE! cell provider other than AT&T in the good ol' US of A. Please tell me it isn't true!!!

This could be a breakthrough for ski-patroll and other such outfits that need to keep track of someone that cna possibly get lost or hurt. Maybe even a system that tells if a unit is still for an abnormal period of time during certain parts of the day or something.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
