Well dammit, if I can't depend on dictionary.com, what CAN I depend on??

Yup, definitely chomping...
from the forum, 80k.
So, maybe I have this wrong but:

Find me a bus that can write at 400mb/s to a hard drive and you might have something. I know this SATA drive in my macbook read/writes at a max of 150mb/s. At least that's what the bus allows.

I know, from personal experience, that it's often the transmission medium that slows things down. In this case, I suppose it's the bus in consumer grade computers such as this macbook. This new firewire speed won't help me a bit.

Now, if you had a commercial grade product, say a Netapp 3060 with a 4gbit backplane, 4gbit Network connection, and 13 15k drives, you might get 200mb/s.

But, I suppose something is better than nothing. At least you're ruling out one point of slow-down.
Uh, no. The idea is that people with diesel vehicles (such as myself), can buy a product that will turn used cooking oil into biodiesel. It doesn't say WHOS used cooking oil.

Typically, people who make their own biodiesel have ways of getting used cooking oil that doesn't include owning a fryer themselves. Restaurants have to get rid of this stuff and are actually more than willing to let you take it off their hands. How many restaurants are around your house with fryers? Get the picture?

So, we're just utilizing what fat america is already eating, not promoting more of it. It's a utilization of waste and turning it into something that not only helps the environment, but our dependence on foreign fuel.

Can you really argue with that? Now the price point of this device, that's another matter...
I don't know, someone is going to have to help me out here:

A 360 degree camera for security functions? Yes. But you wouldn't use the projector to display the image. You might miss something. You'd surely want it the entire picture viewable from one angle.

A 360 degree projector for games? Absolutely. Would take some getting used to. Like you wouldn't move the mouse to look left or right any more...you'd just turn your head and look.

Now, 360 movies sound impossible to me. Well, unless it's an animated/CGI/Dreamworks film. I mean, using a 360 degree camera on a film set would be impossible. Too many people on the set, etc.

I'd like to see it on football games. Slap one of those cameras above the line of scrimmage, add the ability to pan the image from the TV remote and you've got yourself a really cool feature.
mighty mouse all the way...

uh, yeah...right. $70 piece of junk. otherwise I'm a fanboy.

I always liked my mx518.
wow, they actually deleted my comment. interesting...
@David

Um, I have the FR205 and it works outstanding under trees. In fact, that's all I use it for as I only run trails. It's really the only solution for trail running as footpods require a consistent stride. As far as working near buildings, I'll have to take your word for it on that.

However, the 205 and 305 are the exact same body. The only difference is the color. How can the 205 be any more awkward than the 305? I think the 205 fits great and it sure beats the pants off carrying around a GPS dongle. I know because I had a Timex "gps" watch and you had to carry around that separate receiver. Pain in the arse.

As expressed before, I can't see how this product by Polar is any better than what Garmin has.

Multisport? Check.
GPS? Check without a dongle.
Water Proof? Check. As if GPS works under water anyway...only useful for splashes.
Heart Rate Monitor? Check, without the need for a dongle.
Training Software? Can't really compare due to lack of experience with ProTrainer from Polar. However, have you seen motionbased.com? Shweet!
Price? Check and Check again...

Good luck, polar. I think they need to integrate the gps and we might actually have some competition. Right now their only competition is the timex crap.
sweet watch goodness == happy me

replaces crappy garmin
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
