@MarkAnderson For what it's worth, I have a N900 for a little over a week now and I'm definitely not getting that prototype vibe that I kept reading about online. The UI is super sweet and user friendly (which is a good thing since I'm not really a power-user like most of the people who seem to be buying it). If you're still unsure then I'd recommend waiting for the "imminent" firmware upgrade to see if it puts some of your doubts to rest.
Already have mine and I'm loving it. Got it SIM free from the flagship store. Insanely powerful and super sweet UI. My iPod touch looks horribly dated in comparison... btw anyone looking to buy an iPod touch? :D
Didn't you promise some big N900 coverage last week?
Isn't there a Star Wars thing that works like that? Using the Force is way more awesome.
@Chris: I don't think that was Thomas point at all, he was deliberately trying to give the impression that the phone didn't work. If he just wanted to show it's not intuitive he wouldn't just have shown how it's not done, he would show how it actually *is* done as well. What I initially got out of the video, like many other posters here, is that those things just weren't doable due to some glitchy or faulty software/hardware, which is a blatant lie and extremely unprofessional of Thomas (I think Engadget aspires to higher standards than that). In fact, it's only because I watched your video as well that I realised there were no such problems.

You should either change the video, add a caption saying that those things actually work (even if not in the way Thomas expected) or just pull it down altogether.
Apparently sarcasm hadn't been invented yet either.
CDs are so ancient photos were still black and white when they were introduced! I had no idea...
I loved that BBC video. The sound's volume went all the way to 11.
Ah, great selection. Finally, a Crapgadget where every single gadget is undeniably utter crap. Voting so far seems to confirm that, mine went for the cabbage drive.
Hey, does anyone here know if this bug is specific to Ubuntu or affects all distros?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
