Does this strike anyone else as strange? The holiday tunes won't be available until after X-mas AND a special app is needed to alert you when that might be?!? I don't at all mean to look a gift horse in the mouth, but this is a bit of a fail. What's the root cause of the delay....licensing?
How, exactly, is this going to f--- things up for you? It's not as of your copy of Office is going to suddenly stop working. Nor will anyone else's.
Irrelevant. Microsoft infringed i4i. That needs to be redressed, and i4i's rights should not be trampled to the end-users' benefit.

Further, if the end users are impacted, that's on Microsoft, not the court or i4i. Microsoft easily has the funds to pay off i4i. If they choose to pass that cost along to the end user, it'd be less than $1 per copy of Office.
I shall not be violating my contract in any way whatsoever. My contract says I have unlimited data usage on my iPhone. AT&T has violated that contract by not supplying me with undropped calls and always available data throughput (I very often have 5 bars of 3G but cannot get to anything on the internet.) So at 3PM Friday I will merely be "in the mood" to watch YouTube for an hour. That's all. We'll see if AT&T holds up their end of our contract or not.
If the Mac had been password protected, one of the five hands it went thru would just have wiped it. And then the Back-To-My-Mac that rescued it would not have worked and he'd never have seen it again. So the lack of password worked in his favor.
Does nobody have any comments on the free app itself? I tried it and found it mildly interesting. Not sure how much replay value it's going to have but it certainly wasted a few minutes on the first play.
Agreed---the longer the video went on the more I realized just how much this guy had to interleave his modding and his video work. "OK, I'm about to go and do an hour's worth of work on the grilles, so I'll go start the dolly." Further, it was almost painful to know that he assembled the whole box and then disassembled it again just so he could reassemble it to do the rotating time-lapse with the parts organically "growing" in. This guy loves video and loves to (re) build boxes. Indeed!
(Obviously I meant the NON-ethernet kind of networking. Sorry. Shouldn't post while sick.)
There is tons of room for iPhone growth in business. The problem is that Apple has no idea how to reach the higher ups in business to try to push the iPhone. I'm low-man on the totem pole at my company an their salespeople keep calling me. I'm like "No, I definitely do not have the power to switch us from Blackberry. If only." Apple's salesforce has no connections. They need to hire people who know people and use networking (the ethernet kind) to get into business. As it stands now though, they're going about it all wrong and need to wake up to the reality that their new "Apple Store For Business" ain't working.

(More evidence of that: the last time I requested a quote from them, I received a screen capture from store.apple.com that I could have done myself. It reflected none of our corporate discount nor was it an official quote on Apple letterhead that our purchasing dept. would accept. The "Apple Store for Business" is DOA with regard to efficacy.)
I have never in my life used the % key on a calculator. I always regarded it as a "WTF is that?" obstruction.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
