That thing in the top is the 3.5mm audio jack and the red line is the speaker, the back is similar to the one on the E8.
That name sounds pretty weird if you speak spanish... WebOS = Huevos = Eggs = slang for testicles... Etc, etc.
@ Major4Play: Motorola, closed? Probably your carrier locked features on your phone, cuz as far as I know, Motos are some of the most hackable and open phones out there. You can go to Motorola's website and get a link to the phone's SDK, on most recent phones (the linux ones) you can install different media players (that play almost every single file format), gameboy and SNES emulators, overclocking tools, DIY themes, Rockbox, SWAP Memory, FTP, Samba and Telnet services, and so on.
I love Motorola phones, I used to hate them back when they only had the Synergy OS, but now I love them, they're sturdy and reliable. I have a Moto ROKR E2 and today I'm getting a ROKR E8.
@Information Central: "And what do you want to bet that this thing still doesn't have addresses in the contacts, or tasks and memos, or any syncing software that actually works?"

All Motomagx (or linux) Motorola headsets have additional fields on the contacts list for: 4 numbers, 2 emails, IM ID, 2 addresses with address, city, state, ZIP code, country and address type fields. Besides having Custom notifications for each contact or group (picture, ringtone and message alert), and also "notes", voice note, company, title, manager's name, assistant's name, URL, nickname, spouse, children, birthday (with event alarm), anniversary (with alarm too), and zodiac sign...

I think that's a lot of information for a contact.

On the Office Tools menu you get: Notes (which can be sent via bluetooth, email, sms and mms), Tasks list (with due date, alarm, priority, and notes), world clock, a download manager and some extra things.

As for the synching you get Motorola Phone Tools which synchs, backup and restore all your contacts, notes, tasks and calendar appointments, you can import your contacts using vCards or SynchML...

That probably means you haven't used a Motorola phone since the Synergy OS days...

Damn, working at Motorola's CS leaves you traumatized, and I still use a Moto (ROKR E2).
And it kinda sucks...
They didn't shrinked the screen, it's a regular 2 inches screen on landscape position.
Well, I have the ROKR E2 and I love it, it does a lot more than an iPhone (except Wi-Fi and the eyecandy). It has 320x240 video recording, it plays flv, wmv and most video formats, besides playing almost every audio format (not ogg or flac sadly), extremely moddable, radio, flash, and a bunch of other things expensive phones won't do (except for the wi-fi and 3g which I don't even use).

I'm going for this one as soon as I can find it around here. I don't even have 3G here till december or so, so I don't care about it.
Actually, those features you're asking for are already present on most models from the ROKR Series (except for the H.264 thing I guess, but if you can find a good programmer that could be fixed by compiling a new kernel with the needed modules and libraries since new Motos use Linux and java, or just create a MPKG program with those libraries and maybe a bit of overclocking which is already posible).
I might be the exception, but I like them all. I've had a ROKR E2 for a year and it's one of the best phones I've had (after you mod the hell out of it though). What they should do is leave the RAZR line and look alone and focus on the Linux/Java ones and give them better advertisement, people barely know what the ROKR E2 and E6 can do, or the Z6, and the only places I've seen commercials for those models are China and Latin America.
I really don't care about the camera quality since I rarely use it, but AFAIK Motorola's going to use Kodak lenses and sensors from now on on their mid and high-end models and spend their stock of crappy 1.3MP and VGA sensors on entry-level phones.
And I don't care if I get voted down, yelled at, or someone mentions my mom here, but when it comes to design, Motorola does much better than Nokia with their ugly phones made out of crappy plastic, and other brands using the same slider case with a couple of different buttons, or the generic touchscreen with a button or two underneath and the now traditional touchscreen with sliding qwerty...
But there's something I do agree with, and it is that someone at Motorola should get fired.
Hahaha, I used to be considered a genius when I was 3-6 then public school (or whatever) made me the a-bit-above-average guy I'm today... Damn, I hope I can be considered an almost genius someday...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
