Seriously - this is just typical of Jobs having zero appreciation for other businesses. It IS a big deal for a small business who has an app they have been selling for 6 years to change it's name.

Make no doubt about it - when Steve writes "It's not that big of a deal" - he means it's not a big deal to Steve.

More importantly, its much less of a big deal to Apple that the software be allowed to keep its name.
Kinda lame not linking out on your attribution - just sayin'.
It always amazes me how much thought and time has gone into the iTunes Store relative to how little goes into iTunes Connect.

Its like a sad little Orphan that just barely gets the job done.

In terms of reporting tools, it doesn't even really get the job done.
I am glad to see it fail.

Michael Arrogant thinks he knows everything, its nice to see him put his money where his mouth is and come up empty.

BTW, this photo is not what the Crunchpad looks like - there was a video of a working unit and it was big and fugly.
I guess I just read a different article, but he didn't disprove the claims as much as he just dismissed them.

As an iPhone developer, these claims all ring true with me and I feel Apple had this coming.

I am actually rooting for the Droid to create competition. I am actually looking forward to selling my apps with no 30% (!) royalty, 'approval' delays, having Apple own my relationship with my customers, and inserting itself into conflicts between my company and third parties.

Yes, Apple cannot point fingers at anyone for questionable advertising - their Mac vs PC ads have pushed many more limits.

Besides insisting that Windows breaks down and gets infected with virii almost daily, doesn't work with digital cameras (!?) etc, I have never appreciated Jobs making Bill Gates look like a bumbling idiot for years.

Bill Gates is the world's largest philanthropist and has deserved his place in computer history, and he's done about 10X more than Jobs in terms of making computers affordable to the masses.

Meanwhile, Jobs is one of the richest men in the world and has not used his public image to support any cause for a quarter-century (well, except maybe organ donation ) - he even admitted once that he wasn't a philanthropist and hoped 'that side of him would come out one day'.

So, Jobs is making a better computer right now big deal - he could learn a lot from the personal character of Gates and has no business dressing him down systematically year after year.
Hell I have a year-old 2.4Ghz Macbook that chokes on Flash. I thought it was a general Mac issue.
That is a great idea from Virgin.

Airlines don't do much to help people with this extremely common and powerful fear.
There was a similar problem with Windows under MacBook 2008 boot camp where the wifi driver was overpolling some resource and making realtime playback of video a mess.
I don't think its an odd tactic at all.

I never knew that Apple was preventing Flash from being ported to the iPhone, and it was right of Adobe to let users know that it isn't their fault and that they have been trying to get it there for them.

Apple is the world leader in combative advertising with its PC ads, they got everything that's coming to them.

I like Apple products alot and use Macs mostly today, but I neither think Jobs is a demi-god and I don't like his disrespect for Gates in advertising.

Bill Gates has had a much more significant contribution to computing than Jobs and is the world's largest philanthropist.

In terms of making computing affordable and more open, as well as giving back to the world for his success as a billionaire, Jobs should stand in reverence of Gates - or, at the very least, have the respect of not portraying him as a bumbling buffoon in tv commercials for years.
I use high-performance SSD's in all of my systems now, will never go back.

I really want the new iMac, but I hate the inability to upgrade the video and the hassle and warranty issues of swapping the hard drive.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
